Alesis Command X Mesh-Head Electronic Drum Set

Great drum set. It feels good. Seems to respond well to different strike strengths but I'm no expert. Still, I would recommend it. I have it hooked up to a Simmons amp along with an Alesis Strike Pad.

I got these drums so that I could practice quietly in my bedroom. They are awesome, not too small and not too big, just right. They sound totally realistic to me. I like to put on my headphones and jam, it is really relaxing. I am very happy with my purchase. I would buy again. Way better than acoustic drums for practice at home.

I have had this kit since early 2020. The mesh heads play great, the tones included work well if you dont feel like using your own on PC. Over time however the high hat isnt as sensitive as it should be, have to really hit it. other cymbals bleed in from the rack when hitting hard

I use this as my practice set. Good sound and love that it has a zip drive area to play along with downloaded songs. Get a good amp and some high end headphones. I have played on expensive Roland and Simmons kits. For the price this one awesome big time!

I play guitar and piano as well and wanted to get an electric drum kit to get a feel for writing drum parts. This was my first drum set purchase and it's great for living in an apartment where noise can be an issue. The crash and ride cymbals can be hand choked - if you find one of them isn't choking, swap it with the hi-hat cymbal and it should work after that. I did find that you can't assign hi-hat sounds to non hi-hat cymbals so dual hi-hat action is not a thing on this kit. You will need something heavy to hold the kick pad in place, especially if using a double pedal. The toms are all dual zone (pad & rim) which gives you flexibility to have extra cymbals or more cowbell on your preset kits. If you buy a 4th tom to add on like I did, be aware that you will only gain one pad sound - you will not have a sound on the rim for Tom 4. About a year into having the kit, my snare pad stopped responding and I had to send it in to be repaired (pro coverage). I got it back a little over a week later and they fixed the issue. I was pleasantly surprised by this since other comments make the Pro Coverage process seem like a bigger hassle than it is. Overall, this is a great electronic kit with plenty of sounds to select from as well as MIDI programmability with any DAW. I bought my kit in March 2021 and am still happy with my purchase.

I had researched a LOT of drum kits, mostly electronic, living in an area where everyone one lives close to each other and are on the older side. I read hundreds of reviews, I went to a bunch of stores and hit, choked, bell'd, wailed and paradiddled on every electronic kit I could find and this one was definitely the most economical while being the most versatile. Big bang for your buck. I realized it had a USB interface and I will be trying to hook it up to a PC/Ipad/Whatever will plug into it and get back to this review once that's done. In the meantime, whether pro or newb, if you have little space but need to rock out with some sensitivity to your kit, GRAB THIS ONE!!!!!
