Amazing Little Amp for the Money
These may not be, "The Cool Amps" to own, but as a professional, I don't care whether an amp is cool or not. My 85 pound 350 watt GK combo always sounded good, and has seen me through a couple of decades of use. As an aging musician, just getting me and my upright to the gig is proving hard enough. I picked up this amp and a nice hi fidelity light weight 12" cab, and now I have almost twice the power at less than half the weight. Because I like the sound of my upright, I really tend to set the EQ at a nice flat line on this amp. My bass sounds like my bass only louder, and on upright...that is exactly what you are looking for. At less than $300 on sale and brand new, it was basically like stealing I like it so much, I'm the thinking about getting the 1000 water as my "big gig" amp.

Sounds good but had to replace less than a year in.
I purchased this last year in May on sale due to the fact that I'm tired of lugging 80 lb heads around. Our band hasn't started practicing yet so this has spent its entire life on my desk. I used it a handful to times into an interface and then recently into a tiny cab I built. A few weeks ago the volume knob started giving me trouble between 0 and 1 with lots of dropout and scratching. At almost the same time the pad button/clip light started acting funny, the light went on and off opposite of when it was supposed to and the pad was activated opposite of how it should be. Fortunately this has a three year manufacturer warranty but I have doubts on long term reliability if it's been less than a year and it literally has never left my house or been cranked up. I've been playing 25 years and also build/service effects and having issues like this with virtually no use is a bad sign. Therefore, I can't recommend to a friend due to the reliability issue I've dealt with. Other than that, the sound quality is good and I like the overdrive features- very few heads offer a clean blend. The EQ works well as does the effects loop, direct out, etc. I wish the blue LEDs weren't so bright, they're darn near blinding.

Drive, comp features not working four months in. Fan quit working at a recent gig and while the head still worked, and sounded fine, it was so hot to the touch that by the end of the gig that it almost burned my hand. Absolutely worthless. Over 400 bucks down the drain.

Really glad I picked up the B600HD head; such a warm and full sound through my 410 cab. You can probably find a more expensive set up that sounds as good or has more bells and whistles, but for the money this head is solid!
Great head!!

Electric ( 66 Fender Jazz) and upright basses both sound great with this amp no matter if it's a Bose speaker or anything I've plugged it into. Headroom to die for ( loud drummers no longer an issue) and tone shaping controls that are easy, fast and consistent. And I've been using a Walter Woods 1200 w handmade amp for the past 15 years which was the best amp made. It blew out and is not repairable. Used acoustic in the 70s and 80s and although this one is probably made in China , it amazes me. Thanks whoever engineered this amp and pushed to have so many needed bells and whistles. First gig I never turned on the graphic EQ and still was amazed( bought it in the way to a gig and never looked at the manual so did t know there was a button) suggestion is to make the Ww leds adjustable as they are too bright and specular .
Unbelievable tone, punch and features

I have owned all the Uber expensive bass gear (EBS 650, Ampeg SVT II LImited Edition, Ashdown, Genz Benz, Fender Bassman and Warwick bass heads). I was a Class D hater until I got this head on a steal of a closeout, less than $300 with tax. I cannot believe how great it sounds. My 5 string Ibanez 1405 has FINALLY met its match! This thing weighs nothing and sounds unbelievable! It has everything you need and nothing you don't. Tone snobs can save hundreds over buying the Aguilar or Bergantino Class D heads. This is it!
BIG BANG FOR LOW PRICE!

Acoustic bass amps have always been "hidden gems" My 1st bass amp was a 200 watt acoustic head . it had great tone and seemed to be more powerful than the rated 200 watts. Through the last few years I transitioned to more powerful amps, currently playing a tc electronics 500 watt bass amp coupled with...oddly enough... an acoustic b115 mkll cabinet and a sealed twin ten bass cab. Side note - Jaco played Acoustic amps and cabs for years.... Anyways, I love this amp ! lightweight! plenty of power! great controls! and I actually scored this for less than 35 cents per watt brand new from guitar center. you do the math as they dont allow prices to be posted here. they actually took a loss and honored the discounted price! guitar center rocks!

Would this work with a sonic 610 cabinet 550 watts?
This bass amp head would work with a Sonic 610 cabinet.
