eMedia Piano Method Video Demo

Description
The eMedia learning software's Instant Feedback feature works with both electronic keyboards and acoustic pianos. It listens as you play melodies and shows whether you're playing correctly.
The piano and keyboard lessons start with the basics, such as hand position, rhythm, and playing on black keys, and move on to reading music notation, sight reading, scales, and much more. Techniques are demonstrated with over 70 videos viewable in full-screen mode.
eMedia Piano and Keyboard Method 3.0 also helps you learn songs and exercises from music notation as an animated keyboard guides you through fingerings. Songs and exercises are provided as both live-recorded audio and variable-speed MIDI tracks which let you slow the music down as needed. Colorful MIDI accompaniments help make practicing fun. Learn over 100 popular classical, blues, pop, and rock songs, including hit songs from artists such as Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, and Elton John.
The interactive review and ear training quizzes on eMedia Piano and Keyboard Method 3.0 help reinforce new concepts and develop your ear. When used with an electronic MIDI keyboard, you get Interactive Evaluation Feedback with detailed specifics on your playing, including which notes and rhythms were wrong and how to correct them. In addition, the Note Tracker shows you what note you're playing and makes learning music notation easy. This version also offers fully scalable lesson screens and an option for full-screen video. Other accessories include a built-in digital metronome and a recorder. eMedia Piano and Keyboard Method is the ultimate way to learn how to play piano or keyboard.

When I got home, there was an empty spot among my stand and bench in the box that held my equipment. I found the cd rom underneath the flap. I was SO disappointed that it was NOT the 'GC' way! I waited for the curbside at least 15 minutes to bring my order out. I probably misunderstood the ad showing it in a box.?? I feel that I wasted money in ordering this cd-rom. It's not working for me.

Love it!! I always wanted to learn to play piano but money, time, etc. prevented that from happening. Now, my child is old enough to learn so I'm sharing my love of music with him by teaching him while I teach myself. I played saxophone for several years so I'm familiar with music theory, fingerings, etc. just not on a piano. I knew nothing about playing piano and was playing easy music on the first day! It is all digital but I can print out lessons to read over if I want. I set mine up with a MIDI through my laptop which works great for me (all I needed was a printer cable to connect piano to laptop). I love the way you can play something in the lesson & get immediate feedback on mistakes so you can improve! The program is not perfect but generally speaking it works really well. I noticed some mistakes are not caught but I caught myself and continued practicing until I got it right. The order of the lessons are good in my opinion. Basic piano information is introduced along with basic music theory and it builds from there so it's great for beginners with no music background too. As for kids, this is a great tool for school age kids maybe 10 yrs and up. I initially wanted to use this for my 5yr old but it's not entertaining enough to hold his attention although he LOVES seeing the notes turn green when he plays correctly. The eMedia company offers the exact same program separately with cartoon characters which I believe is better for introducing piano lessons to younger children. I paired the adult version with a different kids piano method book kit instead which works for us. But, I do regret NOT getting the kids version of this because it would have been more fun for my child. Overall, I highly recommend it for adults and older children with a longer attention span.
I'd buy it again
