The metronome keeps you in time and I use it as multi track most of the time with multiple cables plugged into it for guitar, bass and what not, so I'm not plugging and unplugging and causing wear on the ports. It would be great if you could assign an input to a track you want.

I use this every week for band practice and am very happy with it!! Love the fact the gain controls are on the outside of the unit and not deep in some setup menu..... Also love the detailed color menu.
Very versatile

I have the optional xlr head for the H6 recorder. The included cardiod mics make smooth, detailed recordings without the harshness found in some recorders. It can take 4 mic or line inputs and with the optional xlr head I can add 2 additional dynamic microphones for a total of 6 external microphones. Phantom power can be turned on individually for each of the 4 built in xlr jacks which is a nice feature if you use ribbon mics. The recorder is easy to use with analog level controls and an intuitive easy to learn menu system. The battery life is excellent.
