G3Xn/G3n: Introduction

G-Series Amp & Cabinet Emulation

Description
The Zoom G3Xn is a genre-defying multi-effects processor that gives guitarists the versatility and freedom to experiment with new sounds and playing styles. Its built-in expression pedal, 80-second Looper, realistic amp and cabinet emulators and extensive selection of effects and patches make it an essential addition to any pedalboard. With the G3Xn, breaking creative boundaries and achieving your ideal guitar tone has never been easier.
Shape Your Tone With 68 High-Quality Effects
The G3Xn comes loaded with 70 expertly crafted DSP effects, including essentials like overdrive, distortion, compression, EQ, delay, reverb, modulation and more. Unique effects such as seq filter, reverse delay, HD hall and OSC echo provide even more tonal possibilities. Use up to seven effects simultaneously for complex chains that would require hundreds of stompboxes to achieve otherwise.
New Amp/Cabinet Emulations for Classic and Modern Tones
Choose from five amp models and pair them with five cabinet emulators to recreate the sounds of tweed combos, British stacks and more. Download additional emulations like the Fender Bassman, Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier and Orange Graphic 120. Adjust the virtual knobs and switches to shape your tone just as you would with real tube amps and cabinets.
75 Custom Patches for Instant Inspiration
Recreate the iconic tones of rock legends or forge your own signature sound with 75 custom patches designed by Zoom guitarists. The G3Xn makes it simple to build on these patches or create and save your own.
Practice Tools for Improving Your Technique
The G3Xn includes essential tools for practice and performance, including a built-in expression pedal for real-time effects control, an 80-second stereo looper for layering multiple parts and 68 rhythm patterns to play along with. An onboard chromatic tuner provides convenient tuning functions like patch bypass/mute.

Everything I Need
This is likely the best deal on multi-effect processors that I have ever seen. Between the built-in patches and the user patches, I doubt any upgrades will be coming my way for many years. Much easier to use than any BOSS multi-effect pedals (in my opinion) and has the additional patches and effects, as well as amps and cabinet simulations, which can be added from the computer. The sounds that come out of this thing are unbelievable, I gig and record with this all the time. This has become my main piece of gear for practice and performance. Highly recommended, 5 stars.

Disappointed
The *.gx3p patches or any previous version cannot be used on the G3xn. You can only place .zptc files on the device which makes non of the 1000's of other Zoom patches compatible. I found this out the hard way.

Love this pedal, especially in stomp mode where you can turn effects on and off without having to scroll through another bank. There are actually 16 amp models, although there are 4 Marshall types and 4 Fender types, maybe that's why they're saying only 6 amps? Also has 12 cab' sim's
great pedal

I use this pedal for live performances as well as in the studio, good variety of effects, delay, chorus, reverb as well as different types of distortion, the instructions manual is not completely accurate but one can figure the pedal out very easily, many presets are pointless but one has the freedom to adjust and create user patches, overall it is a great pedal
I would buy this again...

Zoom should have already upgraded the USB port to C rather than mini. User manual could have been clearer. Otherwise, it is OK.

This unit does away with the need for a large pedal array. You can get all the sounds you need, from distortion to reverb, and everything in between. It can make a solid state amp sounds like a classic tune amp. If the pre-loaded effects are not enough, you can download more. For the price, you can't go wrong!
Still learning to worl with it. Seems user-friendly so far.

Could you use this with a bass? Any cons? Thanks!
This effects processor could be used with a bass but is meant for use with a guitar. Some of the effects may not sound that great with a bass.submitted7 years ago
