I bought a new set for gigs, and decided to try these out with it. First of all, love the look. They really are chrome finish, extremely shiny. Sound-wise, I was surprised how different they are from my typical set. The 16" Wuhan crash is a much lower tone than any of the Zildjians I'm used to, including my ride. Also lacks tonality; very one-note crash. Same thing on the 20" ride, although I could see for the right music it would sound great. The hi-hat is also darker in sound than I'm used to, but I actually like that. Overall, I'd say if you want your cymbals to hit more into gong territory, this set has those lower notes and deeper tone. If you want something bright, I'd look elsewhere. If you only care how they look, these cymbals are so beautiful.
