A really cool looking and usable tool.
Okay, I honestly bought this thing based on the cosmetics, but I have been pleased with the sound. As it looked so cool; I figured this would be a chance to give the NuTube thing a whirl, and if I didn't like the sound, I'd still have a great looking decoration. It really does sound pretty good. I have several hybrid amps with traditional 12ax7s in the pre-amp, and this holds up well against them, when run through the same cabinets. I'm basically going to use it for the late night writing sessions, and will plan to take advantage of the cabinet simulation for recording test tracks to send to my band mates. I find that cab simulation is great for this, as it takes no time to setup, and it's quite, which is a nice bonus when you have the urge to lay something down at 3am. I actually sent an eMail to Korg to verify that this did have the cab simulation before I ordered mine, as it wasn't clear from the literature if it did, or not. This feature was a big deal for me. So far I've fed my G&L HSS Legacy, and my P-90 loaded Les Paul through it, and I was able to get good clean and driven sounds with both of them. I plan to hit it with my SG (490R/490T) and my Lipstick PUP sporting Danelectro tomorrow. If anything sounds amazing, or awful, I'll update the review. Certainly, it's not something I'd gig, but that's not what I bought it for. It's great for what it is and I'd certainly recommend it to my buddies if they were looking for something that looked good enough to set on an end table in their living room, whilst still sounding decent. It's basically going to be a writing tool and tchotchke for me. I think it's going to be amazing in those roles.

Not bad but some disappointments
I wanted this for home recording and I needed a new small cabinet for my Lil Nightrain head. At first I thought it sounded harsh but as I played it I actually like the sounds coming from it. Made the mistake of comparing it to my Vox Pathfinder 15 R which is about the cleanist solid state amp ever. The Superbeetle Does sound more like a tube Vox and now I feel it is worth giving it some time. Ilike the reverb a lot but disappointed by the tremolo. But that isnt great in the Pathfinder either. I think Im keeping it though. Looks like a toy but I think it will be good for recording. My epi Nighthawk loves it as well as my Casino. My epi 62 Sorrento reissue not so much.

Great little amp.

I use it as a practice amp, i can see using it for small gigs. It has good dynamics and responds a lot like my much louder tube amp. The clean sound is very nice and onboard effects are pleasant. Don't bother with the gain knob, it's thin and cold, just use a pedal for that. I've had for 3 yrs, no complaints.
Bought 2, neither worked

I bought one, a display model but new, and it worked great for a few weeks. Then after moving it temporarily it couldn't hit full volume and sound cut out. I exchanged for a brand new, in-box model and it had the same problem. Returned. Not going for a third attempt.
It sounds good for rhythm guitar but not lead

This amp looks great and has excellent sound for rhythm guitar, both clean and distortion, but it lacks the sustain of a real tube amp and lead tones sound a bit artificial. I have a cheap 15 watt monoprice tube amp that sounds much better honestly for sustain and tone when doing lead work.

This Amp is great! Better then I Expected. Heres a tip: If you want to get all this amp or any tube amp has to offer, you have to crank it up. Purchase a Bugera PS1 passive 100 watt power attenuator for around 100.00. With that you can get the maximum crunch out of this amp buy turning the volume of the amp all the way. The speaker cab is great and i use it along with a 1x12 celestion. I would but this amp over and over again. Crystal clean highs and warm lows
