Description

The VOX AC4HW1 makes the premier VOX Top Boost sound available to everyone. The Hand-Wired Series reigns as both the flagship and as a popular favorite among the many families of VOX amplifiers. This esteemed series now welcomes a new addition; the AC4HW1 mini combo amp. The all-tube chassis uses two 12AX7 tubes in the pre-amp and a single EL84 tube in the power stage, pumping out 4W of power through a 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speaker. The Volume control, Bass and Treble tone controls, and Master Volume provide any player with plenty of sonic variety. The HOT/COOL switch offers either the coveted VOX Top Boost tone, or a pure and rich gain that bypasses the tone circuit completely. For relaxed jamming at home, rehearsing, or performing on stage, this combo is all you'll ever need.

    I love this amazing little amp. Clean tones through a polara reverberator shimmer and the gritty hi gain and hot voicing sound incredible when rocking out. Room size matters with this amp. It's made for smaller rooms and sounds completely different in bigger areas.The celestion 12 in greenback is the best there is. I'm not sure what the review trashing it is all about many legendary guitarists pretty much insist on celestion greenbacks or cream backs.

    Lot's of amps have way too much power. For my purposes 4w is great. I use it for recording and practice. Sound is classic Vox. Fit and finish are great. Just a wonderful classic vibe. Rich warm sound and crunchy Greenback break-up are sublime. Grab and go. I'd love to do lower volume jams with this one. I keep a 7w Badcat and a 30w Matchless around for louder situations.

    Been playing over 35 years, rock and blues. I bought this amp to use in my studio as I prefer low wattage to record with. This Vox is without a doubt the sweetest tube amp I have ever used. The tones produced by this amp are stellar. The clean tone is great and the over driven tubes are silky and smooth. Sounds great with single coils or humbuckers. It is loud enough to gig with on a small stage or if you mic it, you can play it anywhere. I have 8 amps in my studio, the largest is a 30 watt. This and the Fender Bassbreaker 007 combo are my personal favorites and between the two, I have to say the Vox is the best.
