This is a great product for toning down the pop of the smaller beaters

  • It's perfect for what I'm using it for.

I wanted a bass drum beater that can be felt more than heard for a few jazz and Latin pierces.

  • Great for lower volume and more boom from your kick

Great if you are looking for a softer sound with less attack and more boom. I play in a variety of venues and while it wasn't appropriate for the last gig I did, I can see that it will be useful at some upcoming gigs in smaller venues. It's another sound to have in your toolbox

  • I would definitely buy this product

I bought this hoping to quiet down the kick for small venue acoustic shows. It quieted things down a little, but the kick is still somewhat loud. However, there is a nice big-band tone that I get from my kick drum with this beater that lends itself well to a an acoustic set. I would recommend this for those who are looking to quiet things down for a coffee-shop type acoustic show.

  • Exactly what I was hoping for - Great Sound!

I was looking to get more low end resonance from my bass drum. I wanted a smaller sound, mostly for jazz without using pillows and muffles. This beater does just that. Also, as an added plus I've noticed that when I bury the beater I really get some sustain. The fleece material doesn't dampen the head on impact like the "bounce" or "chatter" you get from a hard beater. I have not noticed any issue playing doubles or fluttering the kick with this beater. I'm playing a 22x16, with a Evans EQ pad lightly touching the resonant side and Evans EQ4 on the batter with Fiberskyn 3 Ambassador resonant. I checked out the Vater Bomber too. It seemed to have a much harder core. Not to say that it's worse but it definitely made this one seem like the right choice based on what I was looking for.
