Heavy but balanced

This is an interesting stick. The pair I tested was noticeably heavy and solid-feeling... noticeably heavier than the Benny Greb Signature model, which has a larger diameter. But it still gets around the kit quite well thanks to the longer taper, so the balance is really good. I did also notice that the larger tip does tend to blow up the ride cymbal in terms of tone, whereas the Benny Greb has a more compact tip that gives you a finer tone. Overall, my feeling is, if you're looking for a 5B type of stick that still allows for agility and technical playing, while keeping a fine tone on the cymbals, for me the Benny Greb Signature is the better stick. But this Tony Royster is pretty nice too.
