Vic Firth Modern Jazz Collection

Vic Firth Modern Jazz Collection

Vic Firth

Description

The Modern Jazz Collection (MJC4) drum sticks feature the unmistakable sound and feel of maple. The 5B diameter with a long taper makes for great rebound, while the small barrel tip provides a focused cymbal sound.

Never before available to the public, the five models in the Modern Jazz Collection were developed collaboratively with drummers on the cutting edge of "America's Original Art Form," including Jeff Ballard, Greg Hutchinson, Joe McCarthy and Lewis Nash.

I have always loved an 8A or 5A barrel tip stick. Larger diameter sticks feel more comfortable in my hands but are too heavy. These are just perfect! They sound great, feel great, have great rebound with the long taper, and maple is really durable for me.

I was looking for a lighter maple stick since I've been using the Buddy Rich model for over a decade. It has the perfect diameter for my hand, along with a long taper, etc. Highly recommended!

  • I don't use any other stick than this

I play different genres but mainly rock, and these sticks are the best match for me. Speed, accuracy and dynamics are all easily obtained with the MJC4. A pleasure to use.

Need a longer stick than an SD4 Combo. Buy this one. Need a lighter thicker stick to the Dave Weckl's buy this one. It feels great on a snare drum! Due to the weight and my tom sizes I "loose" them in their soubd wise when going fast it seems and feel too. Always loved Vic Firth and I think I always will!! Try some Vic's you'll like em!!!

  • Nice rebound feel & excellent overall length

Light feel with effortless rebound, the tips sound a tad brighter then expected on the ride cymbal but a great pair of alternative sounds to have in the bag for small group settings at lower volume. Fairly easy to adjust to with a comfortable fulcrum grip for matched or traditional. Destined to become a favorite stick choice for many in the jazz realm. Try a pair!
