Been looking for this feel since Regal went under

Been playing with Regal for 45 years, most recently Jazz size - they are no longer available anywhere in any size for me. The coating on them keeps them in my hands, have tried SOOOOOO many others, none had similar coating, until I got turned on to the Keith Carlock sticks. The VF DoubleGlaze are close, but they don't make any with the long taper that the KC sticks have. Still on my first pair, and the tips seem like they may be the weakest part of the sticks, but a few hours in at practice, they are holding up well and are giving me enough chunkiness on the cymbals, so these will be my new go-tos. Would love a nylon tip option, but maybe if I get as big as Keith, VF will make my signatures.

Can we get the 7A and 5A in this "Heavy Lacquer"?

As others have posted. The hunt to replicate that "Regap Tip" feel is a drag. But, these have me feeling good about it. I play aroumd NYC doing various genres and need different weights or voices for the setting. Im hoping for a 7A lacquer since the 5A double glaze has arrived.

I've been a fan of the Peter Erskine models but always needed an extra product to prevent the sticks from getting away from me. The heavy lacquer does the trick. It's a great feeling stick. I play mostly jazz and it works great with excellent rebound.

Beginning drummer, these sticks are well balanced and just perfect weight.

A sixteen inch stick with a long taper plays lighter and more effortlessly than "front weighted" sticks. Regal Tip Jazz and JohnnyRabb Straightneck 7A were the bomb. This Keith Carlocks model plays just as nice as those! Nice cymbal articulation. Finally! A replacement stick with good quality control! And the coating! Hey Vic Firth, PLEASE keep making these!

I use these sticks in a big band - 20 musicians. Plenty of power and control.
