Great Balance / Feel Perfect / Very Durable

If you are like me, one who likes a little more length (lets stay clean here) to their stick, then you love these babies. The DeJohnette series sticks have great balance with a yet solid, not brittle, especially when on the rim shots, as I like too. Not to mention, If you like the bead a little smaller then that of a regular 5-A stick, you will really like these, for they are not to small as you find on other small bead type sticks, but smaller then regular 5-A as already mentioned. This is a great comfort when you need to be subtle and/or when the time calls for a smack down, they have that little extra added durability then that of the smaller bead sticks. I play all styles, and like most have different sticks for different situations, since using these DeJohnette series from Vic Firth, I can tell you that I have knocked out over 80% of my inventory. Overall; Excellent feel and Balance with the added durability of a quality stick. From Hard Metal to Cool Jazz your covered . Great stick a must for the all around drummer, the name says it. Jack DeJohnette.....

The listing shows both black sticks and white sticks— should

Frustrating. The listing shows both black sticks and white sticks— should be listed separately. As a result, I couldn't find a way to order online to specify that I wanted the black sticks only. I had to go into the store, and even then, the Drum department was having a hard time, figuring out how to order them. Even though we specified black sticks, the order came in with the white version. I had to return the order, we then found out that the black sticks are out of stock, and I was recommended to go to Vic Firth directly to resolve. I'm still in the process of doing that. Still, if the black sticks have been listed separately, and out of stock, notification could have been applied to that listing. Just be aware of all of this, if you want the black version of these sticks.

    To my surprise, I really really like these sticks. I ordered them because I set in on another drummer that had a pair. I liked them, then I love them now. I usually play a 5A. These are a little longer and lighter to me. Love them.
