This is a very well made and durable product. The balance, feel, and stick response are very good. But I had hoped the felt mallet ends would sound better on cymbal rolls. I got these for pit orchestra work and was really hoping for a better sound when switching quickly from orchestral snare drum to cymbal rolls. The felt mallet ends respond very slowly and are a bit too quiet for that purpose. Otherwise, for drums of pretty much any kind, they are pretty good.

Don't be fooled by the small size of the mallet, these have a nice soft, barely-perceptible touch in creating cymbal swells. Great in a drumset application, allowing for quick switch from a legitimate stick to a beautiful crescendo.

Great and unique drumstick. It allows me to play two different tones. It is not heavy, regardless of the mallet at the other end. The mallet also does not interfere with the balance of the drumstick. Though it does feel a bit weird at first because you have a mallet right by your wrist. I recommend trying it out in the store if possible.
