The American Classic line combines tradition and Vic Firth style. With bold designs for fuller sound, the Classics are turned from select hickory, a dense wood with little flex for a more pronounced sound. Hickory is also capable of withstanding a great deal of shock, making it highly durable.

The wood tips are deeply back-cut for intensified cymbal response. The nylon tips are similar in size and shape to their wood counterparts, providing enhanced performance and a feel closer to their original wood tip models. Nylon tips are the most durable and brightest sounding on cymbals.

    With stick prices going up, this is a great bundle for a classic pair of sticks. No matter which new type of stick I try, I always keep going back to Vic Firth Classic American 5a. You won't regret having 4 pairs of these sticks.

    Great stick to work on control. Well balanced and get for most uses. I still prefer a SD9 for most extended live performances due to the maple woods less vibration and larger diameter.

    These are my go-to sticks for practicing and playing live, though I don't play out as much as I used to. They're lighter than their competitors and have a nice balance to them. I play too hard so I'm constantly destroying them, but they're great for that, too. Plus, the 4-pack is a bit more economical.
