Vic Firth

collapse expand iconDescription

The American Classic Extreme Drum Stick is ideal for the American Classic player who desires a little more power and reach. An extra 1/2" of length may not seem like much, but the difference is palpable.

These sticks also feature Vic Firth's revolutionary Vic Grip-an anti-slip drumstick coating made from an eco-friendly, water-based urethane. It provides a comfortable and slip-resistant grip. The grip is specially formulated to be extremely durable and is an ideal choice for players who prefer an enhanced grip on their drumsticks.

I have been playing with these sticks for a while and they are good, strong, and have great sound. These sticks have done me good especially because they have the grip and helps to keep your sticks in your hand,If you want quality..these sticks are the ones to get.

stick quality

I've gotten these sticks a few weeks ago then I liked the grip made me play faster than before and more rebound. I've gotten nylon 5b. What I don't like is that when my hands get sweaty the sticks easily slides off my hands. One of my sticks already broke from the tip after few weeks of playing. I was disappointed. My previous drumsticks were Vater hickory nylon 5b which lasted me three months and these drumsticks lasted me two weeks. Maybe they were the bad pair though.

I am a recreational drummer. I have played the drums most of my life. The Vic grip drumsticks do give you a firm grip and avoid them from slipping out of your hands.

the material that the stick is dipped in to create the Nylon Vic Grip was less prone to tearing and disintegrating. These issues occurred solely from use and from gripping the sticks, not from errant rim shots or even intentional rim shots. I love the grip that the material provides, but after a short while of playing, the grip material becomes uncomfortable to grip and peels away from the stick. Just up the quality of the nylon dipping material, and you'd have a stick that outclasses all the others! Like I said, I'll still be buying and playing with these sticks. It's just that I'll be replacing them more frequently than I should have to.
