Vater

Description

Designed by the multi-platinum drummer of the band Disturbed, Mike Wengren's stick measures in between a 5B and a 2B with a quick taper to an oval nylon tip. The extra length gives some added weight and a bit more reach. Nicely weighted and durable, this is a great Vater stick for hard-hitting drumming. Stick is finished in a black stain with artwork featuring Disturbed's album logos.

"I've been playing Vater for my entire career. There simply isn't anyone else out there that crafts wood better than they do. My playing requires a lot of power, precision, and intensity. The added length and thickness combined with the beefier shoulder and shorter taper of my stick model was designed to help me do just that. It gives me that extra edge to push me to the limits of my performances night after night." – Mike Wengren (Disturbed)

Something is wrong with Vater & their quality. When you reach out to them about it, they blame the stores. Sorry but when you buy a shrink wrapped pack that was sent direct from the vater factory and pairs are not paired together correctly. one stick in the pair is 48 grams and the other is 65 grams are you kidding me? chips and splinters in a brand new stick? When i called and spoke to alan vater he said their variance in weight stick to stick is 7 grams a stick. That is just wacky. There is no way their big endorsers put up with that. they get sent perfect pairs from their artist direct department and the consumers get the mismatched product. unbelievable.

Little disappointed in Vater quality control. The stick I got would not be used by Mike. Tips were not trimmed right, had to cut off tabs from mold. Defects in wood , like factory seconds. I do not use them because who they were designed for, just love the size and weight.

These stick are pretty sweet. The length took me a little getting used to, every once in a while I would hit the bottom of a cymbal after hitting a tom but overall these are good sticks. Pretty light for how long they are which surprised me. I would recommend these.
