If you've used "sticky" dampeners, these do pretty much the same job of reducing ring depending on the amount you use, and the placement. If you haven't, the reduction is subtle on most all of them regardless the brand. One thing they say is that they will stick to the outside of your resonant heads, AND BY GOSH THEY DO! Or at least they have for about the last month, and I practice in my home studio about 10 hours a week, 2 house at a time. I put them on and they have not moved! They are super tacky, much more so than Drum Dots or Moongels (I use or have used both) and are kind of hard to get off your fingers but that's ok to me as they stick really well to the heads but still easily come off. I've only had them on for a month and have not removed or reused them but if the sticky wears out t'll try to write again. Also, I've read where the gel type dampeners will melt onto your heads, out in the world. I have only used these (and the others) in my home studio and can't say if these would do that. Personally, I don't put the sticky types on my cymbals but for this review I tried one on my ride and it didn't do much other than take out some overtones, sounding slightly Clancy, so these are not for my patience and to me, reduces their musicality. Again, like other brands, the nice thing is the easy on/off for dampening your drums when you want it, or on whichever drum might need it at a pretty reasonable price, plus- you get 6! These will be the dampeners I'll use these to replace the others, as I think they're superior, and for sure they do what they say they'll do!

I ordered these abs guitar center never sent them with the rest of my order. Its been a week now since I received the order. Two emails later and they continue to ignore the issue. I know they aren't that expensive, but that's my money I am now out, with no product. Love vater products, so I'm sure they work great. But I won't know.. If you order, Hopefully they treat you better.
