Description

Ventura produced various semi-hollow body guitars in the 1970s, often referred to as "lawsuit era" instruments due to their close resemblance to popular American models like the Gibson ES-335. They were made in Japan and are known for their quality construction. Ventura, like many other Japanese "lawsuit era" brands, was manufactured by companies like Matsumoku as an affordable alternative to American-made instruments. Not all vibratos are the same. On a vintage Japanese instrument, a vibrato may look like a Bigsby but was actually an imitation manufactured by another company. These "licensed" or "licensed-style" vibratos varied in quality and often had different mechanisms or components than genuine Bigsby units.
