Generally speaking, the item is made well, however, it has a "fatal flaw": if you tighten it too firmly, it will strip the knob (not the screw) from the screw shaft. Once that happens, you can't adjust it anymore. Since this is a hanging stand with no under guitar support, you have to be confident that it will be secure, and firm tightening is essential. This has never happened to any of my other approximately 80 stands from other manufactures.

Holds electric guitars and basses. Might not be long enough for extra long bass. But holds heavy and light guitars in any mount pattern securly! Got 2 on sale! Great item

The stand I got was crooked; i.e., not perfectly vertical. Nothing can be done to fix this, so I requested an exchange. The second one I got was just as crooked. Having it replaced again, hoping third time's the charm. Meanwhile a friend of mine got one, and it's perfect. All that said, Musician's Friend has offered great service trying to resolve my issue.
