Ultimate Support

Description

The GS-200 Genesis is a guitar stand constructed of automotive-grade materials. It features case-quality velvet pads to protect your guitar's finish. The fold-down support arms securely hold your instrument, and the legs lock open and closed for worry-free stability. Measures 32" (813mm) when set up, and 3.5" x 21" (89x533mm) when folded into a compact unit, it weights 3.1 lbs. (1.4 kg). Stand also features storage slots for your extra picks. 5-year warranty.

Friendly to your guitar's finish
Did you know that most expensive guitars use a nitrocellulose lacquer finish that requires special care? Because of the sensitivity of these finishes, our protective padding is a quality material surface that offers increased protection over standard surgical tubing, rubber, or foam found on other guitar stands (a high-quality case is recommended for long-term storage).

Leg locking system
Genesis Series guitar stands feature a unique, patented leg-locking mechanism. When setting up the stand, unlock and unfold the legs then lock in place for worry-free stability and strength. When finished with the gig, unlock the legs, fold, and lock for easy, compact portability. The ingenious leg lock eliminates what we like to call the "floppy leg syndrome" found with most all other guitar stands.

Needs Improvements

I got this stand to protect nitrocellulose finish but mine has the same foam pads, not the velvet. The major flaw with the stand is the neck/headstock rest. It flips for storage but does not lock in place when flipped around for use. You learn this the hard way, on time. I put a wide rubber band around the back through the grooves so it can't flip back up. The legs fold down and lock in place by turning a plastic knob. It's worn out over a year and this allows the legs to move back up. I will say I did use it every day for practice and gigs fou fourteen months, but it's dead now since the legs won't lock into position. I'me using the cheaper foam pad stand now and I wind cotton rope around the pads to protect my finishes. I wouldn't recommend this stand until the issues are fixed.

Get a sturdy cheaper model. This piece of junk collapses unexpectedly. I bought two and both are faulty.

  • Does what I want. Can't ask much more.

Better than fight the guitar out of the case. Sits there handy to pick up and play.
