Ultimate Support GS-100 Genesis Single Guitar Stand

Friendly to your guitar's finish
Did you know that most expensive guitars use a nitrocellulose lacquer finish that requires special care? Because of the sensitivity of these finishes, our protective padding is a quality material surface that offers increased protection over standard surgical tubing, rubber, or foam found on other guitar stands (a high-quality case is recommended for long-term storage).
Leg locking system
Genesis Series guitar stands feature a unique, patented leg-locking mechanism. When setting up the stand, unlock and unfold the legs then lock in place for worry-free stability and strength. When finished with the gig, unlock the legs, fold, and lock for easy, compact portability. The ingenious leg lock eliminates what we like to call the "floppy leg syndrome" found with most all other guitar stands.

Awsome Stand
Great guitar stand. Solid with high quality construction. Very Stable. Guitar hangs by the headstock and the body rests on the padded legs. There is padding in all the right places the guitar comes in contact with the stand. I would highly recommend this stand. Definitely worth the extra $ to secure your expensive guitar.

Rubber gets tacky/sticky over time
If I would have written this review a year or two after purchasing I would have gave it 4 or 5 stars. Though pricey, it is very stable and durable. It does not fold up as compact as Genisus Ultimate stands, but still is pretty portable for road use. However after a number of years the rubber starts to degrade and get sticky and tacky and eventually useless. I had 3 of these stands I used for in home use (and 3 Genisus Ultimate stands I used for road use). I had to toss out all 3 of these stands in the garbage as the years went on for the same reason. When I say sticky, I mean like glue or flypaper. Not usable. I replaced them with Genisus stands, they do not have the same issue.

Wears out quickly, and drops guitar without warning

Use these stands long enough, and you'll break a guitar. We have a bunch of these, but we've stopped using them after several failures. WIthin a year they wear out fall over. Their designed so that when the plastic parts holding the legs on fail, the stand falls over dumping your guitar to the floor.
Worth it to upgrade to this

A little more than the basic guitar stand, but worth it. Foldable and secure, works for both electrics and acoustics.
never going back to traditional stands

after using this stand to "hang" my bass on, the thought of using the traditional kind (where the neck rests against the U-shape holder) seems so flimsy. this stand is lightweight and sturdy, and there's far less worry about someone knocking it over (especially at a show).
Neck warping

Have been playing bass for 25+ years and have had bare minimum neck problems with my basses, started using these and I'm constantly having to make truss rod adjustments, the way my basses hang and how the body rests against the legs puts it at a weird angle and is warping my necks, switched to different stands and no more neck warping problems.
