Ultimate Support Product Outlines - AX-48 Pro Column Keyboard Stands

Description
APEX AX-48 Pro Product Breakdown:
- Sleek, new design
- APEX-quality features
- Professional tri-bar arms
- Simple setup and tear-down
Sleek, new design:
The modern look and shape of the APEX AX-48 Pro takes a nod from its big brother, the flagship AX-90, and brings the keyboard player out from behind a stack of no-character keyboard stands, and into the spotlight with the rest of the band. The footprint of the new AX-48 Pro has not changed from the previous APEX, but now offers an updated column design that is as esthetically pleasing as it is performance ready.
APEX-quality features:
Everything keyboard players have come to appreciate about the APEX keyboard stand for over two decades is still available in the new APEX AX-48 Pro. It's THE original column style keyboard stand that securely holds two keyboards out of the box (up to 125 lbs each!). The patented Tri-bar arms are height adjustable, the support legs are super stable, and it's incredibly easy to setup, tear down, and transport from gig to gig.
Professional tri-bar arms:
Keyboards, synthesizers, and keyboard workstations have evolved in the last two or three decades since the original APEX was developed. The APEX AX-40 Pro now ships with two sizes of Tri-bar arms (one set of 13" arms, and one set of 18" arms) to safely hold today's keyboards, synthesizers, and keyboard workstations of all sizes.
Simple setup and tear-down:
Setup and tear down takes seconds! The AX-48 Pro breaks down into a single, slender unit that's easy to transport and doesn't take up hardly any room because the hollow column becomes its own carrying case! The legs remain connected and slide into and out of the base of the column, and the arms that support your keyboards are stored in compartments at the top of the column.

Seems nice and stable
I picked this up after a disastrous run in with a cheap 3-tier stand. So far, I really like it. Only drawback is that the center column design means some of the jacks on my Prophet 5 would not be accessible if I had the keyboard slid all the way to the back of the support arms resting against the beam. I am not currently using any of those jacks but, out of curiosity, I pulled the keyboard forward enough to have them all accessible to see how stable it would be, and it feels fine. I really like that it has a relatively small footprint. I can't/won't comment on gigging with it, as this is studio furniture for me and will likely never be used live. Will likely add a third tier in the future, though it isn't super cheap to get the parts to do that.

Stand started falling apart
The first thing to go was the stabilizer at the base of the stand. It just broke off one day about three weeks after purchase. Then the pin to pull out the legs started to stick in the leg. and it was a challenge to coax it out. then finally the pin just came off and so we have to store it and insert it to pull out the legs.. major inconvenience. The design is wonderful and easy to store but the stand is not as durable as its predecessor.

The legs turned out to be unstable. The box appeared to be "returned" item. However, I a not sure whether it was damaged or it was part of the design. I retuned the item for full refund.
Impressed!

After using this and reading some negative reviews I would like to add that it seems they were more misunderstandings of what they were getting than a poor product. I almost didn't buy it based on some of the negative reviews but the positive ones convinced me. I am glad I got it. Very impressed!

These stands are amazing!! They work great on both bare and carpeted floor. I have 2, both hold upwards of 80lbs at a time. They also fold up very nicely for playing gigs.
Pretty nice stand but it took three tries to get it right

The first one that I received had a broken leg. The replacement was missing pieces. The 2nd replacement had loose pieces in the box that gouged the plastic and aluminum pieces of the stand. At least it is functional so I did not return it. Instructions were missing, but I had already assembled two others so it was no big deal. Would have been a pain on the first one.
