For walking around and taking audio notes/samples, it can't be beat. No menus to navigate, and you don't even need to turn it on! One button! It also does a great job as a travel audio interface. I can use it to efficiently connect both my OP1-Field, and OP-XY to my MacBook for seamless input to Logic! Haven't even started using the fun and quirky recording capabilities yet!

  • It's as silly as it is useful.

Overdesigned? Probably. Expensive? Yes. As far as luxury items are concerned, this is an easy favorite. The idea of tactility of the sounds you record with relative ease and immediacy is an unusual treat. It's hard to explain and much harder to justify—but if you're looking for an expensive treat, one could do much worse if you're looking for a digital audio recorder.
