Taylor
Description
The Taylor 811e incorporates the appointment characteristics of the 800 Series in a Grand Theater shape. The 811e offers all the tone of a full-sized, solid-wood instrument in a comfortable mid-sized shape between a Taylor GS Mini and a Grand Concert, but with a more modern set of proportions. The guitar is easy to hold, easy to get around and incredibly comfortable to play. A revolutionary C-Class bracing pattern works in unison with the solid-wood Sitka spruce top and East Indian rosewood back and sides to generate a tone that is bold and powerful. A shorter 24.125" scale length provides a lower string tension with a silky feeling that allows your fingers to glide up and down the ebony fretboard with ease. The 811e comes complete with mother-of-pearl fingerboard inlays, a sleek gloss finish and a convenient AeroCase.

A guitar's top plays a significant role in distributing string energy and tone through the guitar body, which means it has a tremendous impact on the sound of the instrument. Sitka spruce is the most dominant guitar top wood of the modern era, blending the right amount of stiffness and elasticity for a broad dynamic range with crisp articulation. East Indian rosewood is famous for having a full-spectrum voice with complex overtones and a long sustain, blending deep lows with sparkling highs. The combination of Sitka spruce and East Indian rosewood is a true favorite among guitarists.

The GT 811e also features Taylor's ES2 pickup design that delivers the latest in Taylor’s acoustic guitar amplification. The heart of the Expression System 2 is Taylor’s patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. Because the pickup doesn't sit under the saddle, the bottom of the saddle comes in full contact with the bridge, allowing all the natural characteristics of the guitar's tone to come through clearly and evenly, whether you’re playing acoustically or through an amp. Combined with Taylor’s custom-designed “professional audio”-grade preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness.

Found the one. Took me about 24 years but ive finally found my forever guitar. I have a 214ce DLX which i thought was pretty nice. I really enjoy playing it and it sounds beautiful. I might as well toss that thing in the garbage and set it on fire. Im never going to put this down.

While the craftsmanship is excellent, the tone was noticeably lacking. I returned the guitar and am waiting for a refund.

If you are a fan of small body guitar, look no further. I have gs mini and Martin CEO-7 and this is the best guitar in the parlor size range other than a custom shop or high end Collings or Santa Cruz. It look a couple of days for the top to open up after it arrived, but once it did, the tone is excellent.
