Overview

There's something undeniably inviting about the Taylor GS Mini's scaled-down size, yet a single strum reveals the impressive voice of a full-size guitar. That mix of portability and musicality has proven to be a winning combination that fits into so many scenarios in life, from the couch to the campfire to the concert hall. It's not too big, it's not too precious, and it's not too expensive.

That broad-based accessibility has given it a resounding universal appeal, not to mention a built-in fun factor. The shorter 23-1/2-inch scale length makes forming chords a breeze yet gives the instrument plenty of snap and tuning stability for a rewarding playing experience. The acoustic-electric versions enjoy a sweet upgrade to ES2 electronics. All GS-Mini models include a durable hard bag built by Taylor for the optimal fit.

Tone Woods
A guitar's top is the primary filter and distributor of vibrating string energy through the guitar, which means it has a huge impact on its sound. Mahogany is a hardwood that produces a natural compression, yielding more "roll-in" effect to a note. The compression evens out a lively attack for a more linear response. Layered back and sides create a sturdy yet receptive platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top. Layered wood is less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for players who travel with their instruments or simply require more durability.

What sets Taylor Guitars apart? Unmatched build quality, the most stable and playable necks, a vast array of tonal options, eco-conscious and ethically-sourced raw materials, and a lifetime of service and support.

Nice Mini Acoustic

By Bryant Delforce

from Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Mahogany Left-Handed Acoustic Guitar:

Recently bought the Taylor GS Mini - Is my first acoustic guitar. Why I chose this guitar: I had never played this guitar previously, nor any Taylor for that matter. I had strummed away at a number of competing brands in guitar stores, none of which really jumped out and said 'buy me'. I did not want a full size acoustic, have always loved the Mini Maton acoustic but they are a little pricey for me at this stage in my guitar development. I kind of stumbled across this guitar in a review done on youtube by a store, went about my web research 'just to be sure', but knew this was the guitar for me at first sight / sound. The option of the Mahogony solid wood top was the final deal maker for me, unique option in small guitar market and I commend Taylor for taking the initiative to move a little outside the norm, they have done an excellent job here and produced a great little guitar. Quality: Taylor have done a great job with QA on my guitar. Surfaces have consistent finish, no dings, cracks, scratches, burs etc, guitar construction is solid. I would like to think Taylor are just as dedicated to every guitar that comes with the Bob Taylor signed sticker but I do not own them all. Play-ability: Apart from my own limitations as a guitarist, the guitar is amazing to play, string action could be a tad lower but is easy to handle given the smaller body size and shorter neck. Sound: WOW! I have listened to a few acoustic guitars around in guitar shops but this little devil is amazing. I do personally enjoy the deeper warm sound given by the Mahogany wood top and I recommend using the string brand at the gauge Taylor specify on their website for your GS Mini. Cool Features: I like that idea Taylor offer a kit to add electronics to this guitar. Whilst not for me right away, in a year or so I will not be kicking myself for not buying an electric acoustic as I have the option for a self installation electronics kit. Again, this is pretty unique and appealed to me as a differentiation. Conclusion: I like the smaller bodied acoustic, can play this guitar for hours (5+) without getting sore, cramping etc and having such an amazing sounding guitar makes it all the more pleasurable. I highly recommend you consider this guitar when looking for a new acoustic.

Great guitar

By jaime godfrey

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Mahogany Left-Handed Acoustic Guitar:

This guitar is perfect for my wife. She has a full sized dreadnought and she gets tired of playing quick because her small stature and small hands get fatigued quickly. The GS Mini is the perfect size for her. It sounds amazing too. It's louder than her full sized Washburn that was more expensive. Strings are great and it looks incredible. She just bought me one since I can't play her lefty. It's my favorite kick around guitar now.

Very high quality, with a superbly rich sound and great construction. The "mini" size is just right, not too small. This is a fabulous instrument, just right for any occassion.

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Mahogany Left-Handed Acoustic Guitar:

Bought this for our 12 year old daughter who is self taught in guitar, but has been singing for years. She loves it and it sounds great with her voice. She said it was easy to play, comfortable and has a really good sound. She started guitar lessons and all agree this is a great guitar! Would certainly recommend. Lots of reviews and videos helped us find the perfect left handed guitar for our talented and budding artist!

Comments about Taylor GS Mini Mahogany Left-Handed Acoustic Guitar:

Bought this guitar for our 12 year old daughter and she LOVES it! We researched high and low for the ideal guitar with great sound and comfort for her frame. There are some really nice reviews with videos that sold on us on this Taylor. Big sound, beautiful look, she said it was very comfortable and easy to play. She is self taught and is now taking guitar lesson. The rich tones sound great with her beautiful voice and she play for hours a day. I believe she will become a beautiful artist on this guitar! Would certainly recommend for beginners and professionals alike.
