Taylor
Description

The Taylor AD22e American Dream Grand Concert acoustic-electric guitar is a premium instrument infused with attitude. Handcrafted in California, this solid urban sienna-colored Grand Concert combines high-end components with a rebellious streak, delivering professional-grade tone with eye-catching style. At the heart of the AD22e is Taylor's patented V-Class bracing and ES2 electronics, which provide unparalleled acoustic sound and plugged-in performance. Paired with a sleek gig bag for portability, the AD22e American Dream is ideal for singer-songwriters and performers wanting to stand out on stage.

V-Class Bracing Unlocks the Guitar's True Voice

Taylor's revolutionary V-Class bracing is a signature design that maximizes volume and sustain while enhancing clarity and projection. Strategically placed, V-Class bracing enables the top to freely vibrate for a bold, complex tone with rich overtones. The result is a guitar that rings out with power, depth and nuance whether strumming chords or fingerpicking melodies.

ES2 Pickup System Delivers Studio-Quality Plugged-in Performance

On stage or in the studio, the ES2 pickup system faithfully amplifies the AD22e's acoustic properties. Featuring three uniquely positioned pickup sensors, ES2 electronics capture an extended range of tonal nuance and dynamics. Paired with Taylor's custom preamp, the ES2 system produces a clear, balanced tone when plugged into an amp or PA system. Volume, treble and bass controls allow for quick tonal adjustments on the fly.

Slim, Comfortable Neck Inspires Creativity

The AD22e features a slender mahogany neck with an ebony fretboard, a combination that yields a fast, smooth playing feel. A 24.86" scale length provides comfortably spaced frets for effortless chord changes and single-note runs. Whether you prefer a pick or your fingers, the AD22e's neck is designed to keep up with your playing.

Premium Gig Bag Included for Safe Transport

Taylor includes a deluxe gig bag to securely transport your AD22e between performances and recording sessions. Padded handles and straps make the gig bag comfortable to carry, while thick padding surrounds the guitar for maximum protection. A large front pocket provides extra storage for picks, straps, strings and other accessories.

  • Fell in love with it at the store

I haven't bought a guitar in 30 years. I'm 67, been playing since I was 15, and call myself an advanced intermediate enthusiast. I went to the store and started trying different brands in this price range. Ho-hum... up until I picked up this AD22e. I can't say exactly why, but it just made me want to play it. I hogged the room for an hour or so, couldn't put it down. Went back the next day and took it home. I had a shop check it out for me and the tech there was impressed, pointed out the excellent tonal balance between strings, all sounding out strong and clear. The electronics sounds great too. I'm just addicted to it. I start playing it and find a couple of hours have gone by. I've been playing a lot more finger picking because it feels so easy and sounds so good, but strumming with/without a pick is great too. I love the understated elegance of the matte finish mahogany body with the simple rounded edges. Simple, done right, is far better than fancy, in my book. Just buy it.

I love this guitar. I got it for finger style but after a setup it strums nicely too, in my opinion. The contrast between this guitar and my other main guitar (Martin DCPA4) is so fascinating. Two totally different yet somehow equally beautiful sounds. Even the pickup on this guitar sounds good DI.

I love Martin Guitars! My favorites are my D-28 and GPC-16. But I was looking for a smaller guitar that's comfortable to play on the couch and easy to travel. I picked up a Martin 000Jr for that purpose and was reasonably satisfied. But, then I played the Taylor AD22e and was impressed immediately! Comfortable to play and rich soft tones for fingerstyle. The more I play it, the more I like it! Now looking to add more Taylor to my guitarsenal!

I bought my Taylor AD22e back in April 2022 after playing it for just 5 minutes! I love the playability and the "spongy" feeling of the shorter scale length(24 7/8). I love this guitar and the sound has only improved over the past few months! If you're a finger picker or a soft-medium hit strummer, I highly recommend you try this one out!

  • Taylor AD22e - an alternative travel guitar with great sound

I bought this guitar about a week ago, initially for just travel usage, ie - when we go to the beach, visits with family, anyplace else we can drive to, but I have found I really like playing it. I have previously owned a Taylor 214e Delux, a 414ce and a GS Mini. I traded the 214 and the GS Mini (did not like the feel of the Mini, neck width, and compressed size of the frets on this small guitar, hence I bought the AD22e) in on other Taylor guitars and gave the 414ce to my son-in-law to keep it in the family. I presently own a Builder's Edition 614ce (which I love to play). This AD22e is an amazing small guitar, sound, construction, light-weight, great gig-bag, and super easy to play. Although smaller than my GA 614ce, it does not have that mini-guitar feel that I got with the GS Mini. I will never stop playing my 614ce (because it is great guitar with amazing sound and playability) but the AD plays close enough to my Builder's Edition where I don't feel like I am playing a second-class guitar. In fact, the smaller size and body shape (Grand Concert) actually adds some additional comfort for the finger-picking style that I prefer. There are two inexpensive things you should do with this guitar immediately. First, trade out the Elixir PB Light strings for Elixir PB Custom-Lights and also replace the plastic bridge pins with "real" ebony bridge pins. The ebony pins will improve the sound of your guitar and the Custom-Lights will improve the ease of play.

Awesome guitar!! Beautiful soft, woody tone. Great playability. Pleasure to play. Wonderful complement to my other guitars with different wood tones. It did, however, require me to make a trust rod adjustment to lower the action, but that is not unusual even for new guitars.

How much larger is it than a Gs Mini?

It's only a couple of inches difference. The GS isn't all that mini.
