Taylor 412ce 12-Fret Special Edition Grand Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar Shaded Edge Burst

The Taylor Guitars 412ce Grand Concert 12-fret special-edition acoustic-electric guitar is a premium instrument that was designed by master guitar designer Andy Powers to provide an inspiring playing experience for musicians at all skill levels. The Grand Concert body shape offers comfort and control, while the cutaway provides full access to the upper frets. The Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides deliver a balanced, responsive tone. Taylor's innovative V-Class bracing boosts volume, sustain and pitch accuracy.
V-Class Bracing Unlocks the Guitar's Full Potential
Taylor's groundbreaking V-Class bracing opens up the sound chamber to produce notes that ring loud and true. Chords sound full and harmonious, with minimal dissonance. The guitar is highly resonant, with notes that bloom and decay gracefully. Intonation is vastly improved, allowing for cleaner, sweeter tones up and down the neck.
Premium Tonewoods and Appointments
The 412ce 12-fret special-edition pairs a Sitka spruce top with Indian rosewood back and sides, a combination renowned for its musicality and dynamic range. The Grand Concert body's controlled overtones allow the guitar to be heard clearly in an ensemble. Gold tuners, an abalone rosette and "Engraved Victorian" fretboard inlays demonstrate Taylor's commitment to excellence.
Natural Plugged-In Tone
Taylor's ES2 electronics faithfully capture the 412ce 12-fret special-edition's acoustic properties with a minimum of coloration. The preamp's intuitive controls make it easy to shape your tone for any musical application. Whether on stage, in the studio or jamming with friends, this guitar delivers the same vibrant, responsive voice plugged in as it does unplugged.
Playability and Comfort
The 412ce 12-fret special-edition's compact Grand Concert body, 24 7/8" scale length and slightly widened neck profile offer a familiar feel for steel-string players transitioning to nylon strings. Generous string spacing and a fingerboard radius optimized for fingerpicking invite expressive, articulate playing. A guitar built for a lifetime of music making, the 412ce 12-fret special-edition acoustic-electric from Taylor Guitars is an instrument you'll never outgrow.

I have some hearing loss in the upper tones. Will there be enough mid tones to fill in the blanks? I have a mahogany GS mini and I've had it a long time. It still sounds good but I really am hoping between the Sitka spruce and rosewood, that will be a great tone wood combos. Do you agree?
Absolutely. The full size will make a big difference.submitted5 years ago
