Taylor

Description

The Taylor 214ce DLX Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric guitar delivers peak playability, a full and articulate voice, clear intonation up the neck and Taylor’s professional-grade ES2 electronics—all at an accessible price. The Grand Auditorium body shape makes for a versatile instrument that ensures solid volume even in response to light fingerpicking, and reacts to medium strumming and flatpicking with a clear, balanced sound across the tonal spectrum. It features solid Sitka spruce for the top, which blends stiffness and elasticity in just the right proportions to produce a broad dynamic range with crisp articulation. Layered East Indian rosewood back and sides create a sturdy yet receptive platform for the vibrating string energy sent by the guitar's top, and are less susceptible to changes in temperature and humidity, making it an excellent choice for traveling or if you require more durability.

The 214ce DLX Grand Auditorium also features Taylor ES2 electronics, including their patented behind-the-saddle pickup, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. Due to its location, the bottom of the saddle sits in full contact with the bridge, allowing all the nuance of the guitar's tone to come through clearly, whether playing acoustically or plugged in. Together with Taylor’s custom-designed preamp, this system produces exceptional amplified tone and responsiveness. On stage through a PA, plugged into your favorite acoustic amplifier or direct into recording software, the ES2 faithfully conveys the voice of your Taylor guitar. Additional appointments to the 214ce DLX include a gloss body and satin neck finish, neo-tropical mahogany neck in a standard Taylor profile, gold hardware, and a West African ebony neck and bridge.

The 214ce DLX comes with a hardshell case.

My first Taylor and I couldn't be more pleased with my decision. The sound this guitar projects is amazing and it's an absolute pleasure to play. A modest neck relief adjustment and the action is better than I could ask. Add all that to the fact that it's a well made, beautiful guitar. My thanks to Taylor Guitars and the guys at Guitar Center.

  • Grate production. Noble look. Deep and touching sound.

Great sound, noble look, however: I had to give to a processional guitar repairing to reduce the gap /low distance between the strings and the neck. it was too high gap. That makes playing much easier and soft.

  • Yes! I will buy this again and again.

Plays and sounds far better than my 614ce. Less than 1/2 the price. Try it before going to a higher end taylor.

  • Plays as good as I've ever imagined a Taylor would

It's a definite contrast and compliment to my Two Martins. Completely different sound with Rosewood instead of Mahogony. Ease of playing is easier than a Dreadnought but not as easy as a 000-18.
