Introducing Spark Mini Booster from TC Electronic

Scott Ian Spark Mini Booster

Description
The TC Electronic Spark Mini Booster packs a serious punch in a compact pedal. This fully analog booster delivers up to 20dB of clean boost to give your tone a focused kick. With the Spark Mini's ultracompact size taking up minimal space on your pedalboard, you can boost your sound with studio-quality clarity anywhere.
Rock Pure Analog Tone Without Coloration
Inside its durable metal housing, the Spark Mini Boost utilizes an all-analog circuit with carefully selected components, from the transistors to the capacitors. This ensures your guitar tone remains completely unaltered, with the Spark Mini Boost amplifying your core sound without any hint of coloration. The fully analog signal path simply boosts your tone, revealing more of the natural character of your instrument, amp and effects.
Dial Up to 20dB of Transparent Boost
With its highly responsive Boost knob, you can dial in up to 20dB of boost with the Spark Mini Booster. Keep it subtle for a little extra volume when taking a solo or crank it for more saturation and bite from your amp. The Spark Mini's wide boost range means it works equally well as an always-on clean boost or a solo boost to cut through the mix. The Boost knob gives you precision control over the exact amount of transparent boost you need.
Get Versatile Boost Control With PrimeTime
The Spark Mini's PrimeTime footswitch delivers versatile options for utilizing the pedal's boost. In PrimeTime mode, the pedal acts as an always-on boost. But you can also use it in stompbox mode, where the boost engages only while holding down the footswitch for momentary solo boosts. This makes the Spark Mini ideal for both adding clarity to your sound or emphasizing specific passages. PrimeTime lets you get the most out of the boost for your playing needs.
True-Bypass Switching Maintains Signal Integrity
With a true-bypass switching circuit, the Spark Mini Booster allows your dry signal to flow directly to the output when disengaged. This maintains the integrity of your guitar's tone even when the pedal is off. The true-bypass design ensures no unwanted coloration is added to your pure sound.

The Spark is a great little clean boost tool.
I was looking for a great little pedal to add to my board that would just boost my signal without distorting it whether your playing clean or in distortion mode. It's not an over drive pedal it is a clean boost pedal. So if you running out of room on your pedal board and need a great little boost, this will get the job done!

Slightly diminished high frequencies, slight compression
I wanted a pedal to boost the signal of my Fenders without changing each guitar's tone or unique character -- basically I wanted transparent gain. To my ears, this pedal slightly diminishes high frequencies and adds slight compression. After comparing, I concluded the TC Electronic RUSH pedal is better at accomplishing what I desired. This pedal, while not horrible, did rob my guitars of some of the nuances of their sound. That said, I think this pedal's temp boost mode is very cool, and I like the fact that the pedal engages when you press down on the button as opposed to when you release it.

I never ever do reviews ever but just received this and tried it thru my pedal chain. I had been using the boost on my Tonebone PZ PRE. This has a much better boost with great tone and pedal is dead quiet.
Great punch and clarity!

Great for solos and cutting through the rest of the band. Almost too much punch, great to have the head room.

Does this unit help in boosting my acoustic guitar sound while playing live.
"20dB of clean boost to give your tone a focused kick." This is for R&R playing, very loud. I assume your guitar has a pick up. Why does you guitar need a 20dB boost? Hit that switch and you'll get nothing but feedback.submitted7 years ago
