PolyTune 3 - Official Product Video

Description
With the TC Electronic Polytune 3 tuner pedal, you'll never play an out-of-tune note again. This next-generation tuner provides fast, precision tuning for guitarists and bassists. Whether you're performing live, recording in the studio or practicing at home, the Polytune 3 offers versatile tuning modes to suit any situation.
Tune All Strings at Once
The Polytune 3's polyphonic mode lets you strum all your strings at once and see each string's tuning instantly displayed on the bright LED screen. With a single strum, you're ready to rock in seconds. For live playing, the polyphonic mode is a must-have, allowing quick tuning even in dimly lit stages.
Choose the Precision You Need
For precision tuning, use the Polytune 3's chromatic mode. Pluck each string individually and the tuner detects the note you're playing, and how sharp or flat you are from the target pitch. The high-definition screen displays needle-point accuracy so you can get perfectly in tune. When recording or fine-tuning, chromatic mode gives you the control you need.
Achieve Ultimate Tuning Precision
The Polytune 3 also offers a strobe tuner mode for the highest level of tuning accuracy. The strobe display allows you to tune your instrument to exacting standards. By tuning each string to the point where the strobe display is most still, you can achieve +/- 0.02 cents accuracy for any performance situation. Strobe mode is ideal when laying down tracks in the studio or setting up your instrument.
Protect Your Tone With Built-in Buffer
In addition to multiple tuning modes, the Polytune 3 features TC Electronic's BonaFide buffer to preserve your core tone no matter the length of your cable run. For comprehensive tuning and tone protection, the TC Electronic Polytune 3 tuner pedal has you covered.
Tune all Strings Simultaneously With Polyphonic Tuning
Strumming all six strings at once, the PolyTune 3 recognizes each note and shows you the tuning status for every string clearly on the LED display. The intuitive polyphonic tuning mode makes tuning fast and foolproof. Just strum and you'll instantly see which strings need fine tuning, ensuring you hit the stage perfectly in tune every time.
Choose From Chromatic, Capo, Drop D and Alternate Tunings
The PolyTune 3 goes beyond standard tuning with multiple handy modes. The Chromatic mode lets you tune each string independently. Capo tuning adjusts for using a capo so you can transpose while staying in tune. Drop D tuning quickly gets you ready to rock. Alternate tunings like open G are also available to explore new tones. With the PolyTune 3, you'll have the right tuning mode for any style of music.
Maintain Optimal Tone With Built-in Bonafide Buffer
This pedal has TC Electronic's high-quality Bonafide buffer circuit built right in. Just switch it on to preserve your tone and sustain over long cable runs and complex pedalboards. The transparent, low-impedance buffer keeps your signal strong. That means no muddiness or treble loss between your guitar and amp, giving you optimal tone at all times.

Why Did I Wait So Long
I'm old school, been playing 40+ years, never used a tuner. Always tuned by ear because I thought it was the best way. Bought this from GC here in Vegas mainly because of the strobe tuner capabilities for setting the intonation on my guitars. Tried tuning everything up and boy I wish I would have picked one of these up a long time ago. Now I spend very little time tuning and a lot more time playing. The strum and tune all 6 strings at once is absolute brillance. I play a lot of slide in open G and D, so easy now to change. Don't wait like I did, it may not be the sexiest pedal on your board, but it is the most necessary.

Figure it out on your own.
So, how does this sucker actually work? What do the various push buttons (display/tune) actually do? How do you use the different tuning modes? How do you change hertz frequencies? Well, you can either find out by trial and error and just keep pushing buttons...... Or you can research video resources on line. Don't count on the 1 pager instruction sheet in the box to explain any of the nuances of the pedal. The key to learning what this tuner actually does and how to operate it is to consult a combination of user made videos on You Tube combined with TC generated Polytune 1 and 2 videos published some years ago. Don't expect to find comprehensive Polytune 3 documentation in the box, on line or as a video resource. Once you understand and figure things out, it makes sense and is a great tool to have on your board. But if you aren't naturally intuitive and need some printed/video instructive help, then recognize that you are on your own. TC Electronics should reshoot the Polytune 1 and 2 videos that can be found on You Tube and link them to their online product sheet and marketing materials. Other than that, it's a pretty cool tuner. Maybe a little too sensitive at times when trying to fine tune. Also works much better on solid body electrics than acoustics due to the the acoustics natural resonance.

Tuner is a bit touchy if trying to tune single strings. Any slight touch of another string bumps it into poly mode. Unfortunately poly and single tuning don't match. In tune one way then shows differently the other. Use your ears. Works with 5-string bass and guitar. #sweepstakes

Even with little to no instructions I found this runner very easy to use. And for a person like me who is not very tech savvy, that's saying something. I found it very helpful when setting up my 4 guitars. It's bright and easy to read

I play a 5-string bass w/ high C instead of low B. Mostly interested in TC Electronic Polytune 3 Pedal Tuner b/c of BUFFERING & available "true bypass" as alternative. Do you get (available) MUTED TUNING w/ TC Electronic Polytune 3 Pedal Tuner? If not, can you recommend another floor tuner for 5-str bass w/ hi C w/ buffering AND muted tuning?
