I've been through (4) of these and got my moneys worth every time. They played out because of my CONSTANT WEAR AND TEAR....the product is built very well I just use it a hell-of-a-lot. I use it far more than the average bassist. Living in a apartment can be challenging at times...there are times when I want to practice or learn a new song and an amplifier at 3:00 AM just won't cut it. I put on the headphones and jam all night long if I want. The features are excellent and the built-in tuner sure helps. Tascam, this is a great product and it's a rare occurrence for me to make a recommendation, however, I wholeheartedly endorse this bass trainer and I wouldn't change a thing on it. M. I had the first version of the Tascam Bass Trainer and did not like it because it was harder to use and very easy to break. The door fell off my first version real easy without dropping it. My CD's had quit working in the first version also. This second one is very easy to use and is made WAY BETTER than the first one. I am buying another one and recommanding it to other Bass Players who live in apartments or want to practice in private.

This is my second CD-BT2. It took several years, but I wore the first one out. I the CD-BT2 ever time I practice. It is indespensable for figuring out the bass line of a song. Features I use frequently are 1)Tempo, which allows me to slow a song down, from a little to a lot without changing the pitch, so I can hear the indvidual notes in a bass line, 2)Loop, which allows me to loop a section I'm having rouble with, 3)Flash, which allows me to back up 3 seconds each time I press the Flash button, 4)Key, which allows me to key without changing the tempo. There are also controls for boosting the bass output of the CD and effect for the bass if you've plugged you bass into the unit. There are controlls to fine tune the pitch of the CD to match the turning of your bass. I play my CD-BT2 through my PA, but the headphone feature works well too. These units are very reliable. My first one started to play irratically, but I used it A LOT, especially the loop and temmpo controls. In my openion, any serious bass player, student or professional, should own a CD-BT2.

I was somewhat hesitant on purchashing this item, based on negative reviews I've seen on other sites. But, after GC matched a competitor's price, and gave me a good deal, I thought I'd take a chance. I am satisfied overall. My only complaint is with the bass enhancement feature which is less than desirable. Sometimes this features only muddles up the mix. You get a decent tone with your bass, and the ability to slow down the tune without affecting the pitch is a big plus. Very happy with my purchase.

I'm having a lot of fun with this new toy. I've never had anything like this before, so it's all new to me. It's easy to use, and the instructions for use are pretty easy to understand. It does the job of slowing things down to get the licks your after. At the really slow speeds, it does have a strange sound about it, but it's not distracting enough to be a problem, and you can still hear the licks at the proper pitch. It also works well if you want to hear a part in the higher ranges such as guitar or keys by filtering out the bass and then have a clean shot at the other parts. I really like the loop feature too. It's easy to use, and very helpful to be able to go over and over a section time and again to practice or learn a lick without having to stop. I do not regret my purchase at all. I just wish I had bought one sooner.

This unit is light years better than the CD-BT1. The key change option is a great addition, And the choice of ten effects banks adds to the mix. I love the three octaves tone oscillator. On the down side the BT2 still has a "Flutter" sound when you slow the tempo down. I found this problem on the BT1 also. The only other issue is that there is not a "line in" like the BT1 has. Overall this unit is an indisputable improvement over the BT1. A great buy for the money !!!!
