TAMA IN-DEPTH #6 -How to safely and compactly store a Hi-Hat stand

TAMA Speed Cobra Hi-Hat Stand

Description
The idea of replacing the traditional pull mechanism with a lever design was a genuinely revolutionary concept. The Iron Cobra version uses roller bearings at the lever fulcrum for even smoother footboard action while a super-strong Kevlar® strap connects the footboard and pull rod for even, noise-free action.
Quick-Set Clutch
With just one touch, the Quick-Set Clutch can be attached or removed - simply push the button on the side of the clutch. The clutch also allows the top hi-hat cymbal to float more freely, maximizing the natural resonance of the cymbals.
Matching Footboard w/Hinge Guard Block
The construction of the Bearing Hinge on the footplate has changed from a one-piece assembly to two pieces. This design holds the bearing more evenly – minimizing stress and maximizing smoothness, while also adding to the pedal's sense of power.
Shorter Cymbal Rod Included
Speed Cobra hi-hat stands now come with both long and short cymbal rods, allowing drummers a choice based on their unique setup needs.

I've been with Tama for over thirty years, I get product updates sent to my e-mail account. I purchased not only the HH915D but also the HP910LN matching Bass Drum Pedal. Having purchased the first generation of these a few years back and assigning them to my practice kit because I felt there wasn't a big enough difference to my Iron Cobra match to use them on my performing kit; I was waiting for the improvement that would make me feel comfortable leaving Iron Cobra. After viewing the video of each,,, I knew these were it, they've arrived! I've been working with them, played my first "Live" gig with them and I was floating, they're faster then I am! They respond to the slightest command, I couldn't be happier and right away I'm asking myself why would anyone want to use anything else. The new heel-plate makes a huge difference even though I'm a heel-up player, you sense its there; your foot feels connected to the long pedal now, missing in the first generation. The swinging spring connect on the Bass Drum Pedal; that's were the floating comes from. Both of these new models are worth your investment. Frank DeFonda.

I think that my favorite thing about this hi hat is the tilt option. I was able to place the footboard as far away as was comfortable for me and then tilt the cymbals closer in. The only negative thing for me is the cymbal tilter, but I don't think that it is wrong, I just don't have it figured out yet. Everything else about it is great, love the longboard sitting right next to my Speed cobra! I've played lots of different drums but I have always used Tama hardware, love their stuff.
