collapse expand iconDescription

The Tama Speed Cobra HP910LN kick drum pedal redefines fast, aggressive bass drum technique. Tama has revolutionized pedal design by creating a pedal that delivers both lightning-fast speed and robust power. The HP910LN features an extra-long footboard that provides enhanced leverage and control, as well as Tama's innovative Cobra Coil pedal spring which instantly returns the footboard to the original position after each kick. The Tama Speed Cobra, a premium pedal for drummers seeking superior speed, power and precision.

Super Stabilizer Base Provides Rock-Solid Foundation

At the heart of the HP910LN's performance is its wider baseplate and frame, providing absolute stability for aggressive bass drum technique. The 3-piece hinge guard block at the pedal's heel offers a durable pivot point and slightly extends the footboard for increased speed and control. This enhanced construction allows for powerful, precise and repetitive bass drum strokes.

Innovative Features Maximize Speed and Power

The HP910LN incorporates several pioneering features to deliver maximum speed and power. The recessed footboard positioning moves the top of the footboard away from the cam for a natural kicking motion. The LiteSprocket Rolling Glide symmetrical cam and double chain work together with the extended footboard to enable fast, powerful strokes through the entire pedal cycle. The Speedo-Ring rocker cam eliminates spring friction using a built-in ball bearing rocker for a smooth feel.

Adjustable Components Optimize Feel and Performance

The HP910LN includes several adjustable components so drummers can customize the pedal to their unique preferences. The Cobra Coil spring is adjustable to modify spring tension for different feels. The beater angle is also adjustable to produce a variety of bass drum sounds. In addition, the Para-Clamp II Pro securely attaches the pedal to any bass drum hoop without slipping or scratching the hoop.

Premium Features and Components

From the Swivel Spring Tight tension mechanism to the Accu-Strike Cobra beater, the HP910LN incorporates premium, high-quality features for optimal performance. The Swivel Spring Tight mechanism allows for free spring movement and a smooth feel. The Accu-Strike Cobra beater provides a powerful, precise strike for an explosive bass drum sound. A hardshell case is also included for safe transport and storage of this professional-level pedal.

My son had a single 22" bass with a Mapex double pedal (I bought an entry level pedal to make sure he stuck with it). After seeing astronomical progress in his desire to play and song writing and speed, I got him an additional 22" bass drum. He idolizes Danny Carey, Joey Jordison, Vinnie Paul etc so metal is definitely his go-to playing style. He wanted direct drive for speed, but after trying these in the store, and comparing them to a direct drive, he fell in love with the Tama Speed Cobra 910. The feel is superb out of the box and needed no adjustments. These pedals easily increased his double bass speed by 50% or more. I also love the fact they have a high-quality drum key mounted on the side and are packaged with a nice carrying case. We picked up 2 of these bad boys and didnt look back. In my opinion, this is the best bass drum pedal you can buy under $300.00.

I've been using DW 5000 pedals for 20 years and never considered switching until recently. I was messing around at GC and played a kit with an Iron Cobra. I was surprised by how much I loved it. When discussing with a worker he recommended trying the speed cobra in addition. I immediately loved the speed cobra. I've been trying to learn the heel-toe technique recently and when I tried that on the speed cobra, played faster than ever, I wish I discovered this earlier.

For me, this is a 5 star product, not only for very high quality and value, but also because I have big feet! Size 15-16 W. I've played for over 50 years and upgraded from a 1970's Pearl to Pearl's Demon Drive direct drive pedal which is super adjustable and fast, and the top of their line. I love it, and still have them both. But I prefer to play heel down and my heel was always on the floor, even in the "extended" set up so the Speed Cobra was a natural progression. They never tell you, but it may help to know that the footplate measures 13-1/4" from tip at the chain to the end of the heel plate ("max"), and is 3-1/2" at the widest point. BTW, the DD is 11-1/4x3, and the '72 is 13-1/8x4. This version of the SC allows for independent adjustments of the pedal and beater which was a must have for me since the DD. These features function as expected and adjust to anyone's preferences and I'm still working on my sweet spot but this will get you there for sure. So far the Cobra Coil is un-noticeable but can also be adjusted for more recoil. It has a sturdy top spring but it's hard to get under there to work with it but the settings are secure once you do. This comes with the best beater head I've used over the years and here I've experimented with many types. This beater has excellent balance and weight and again it is adjustable not only by length but you can align the beater surface to match your drumhead for 100% contact. The pedal allows for separate setting of the beater distance and if you don't have that feature-get it! I've put fluffy wool jazz beaters and old school felt as well as "weird stuff" like rods and elliptical beaters and they all work but the stock beater is worth buying on its own! Overall very happy with this purchase!

I have a double bass set and I bought two of these beauties to go along with my setup. Once I got them, I took them out and hooked them onto the bass drums right away. I instantly fell in love with these pedals, smooth, wicked fast, easily adjustable, and very comfortable. After a few days I decided to move the Cobra Coil back for harder action, made it even better. The beater is also very nice, lots of power and punch. Recommend this for experienced players who are looking for a higher-end, smooth, fast, and great quality pedal. This pedal is unique and one of a kind, the best I have ever played!

I’m sorry, I don’t know. It would need to be tested. I don't have one to check.
