I've been playing drums for over 40 years. This snare drum is the best sounding snare I've ever played with a crispy punch and fat low end. If you're looking a great sounding snare drum look no further.

After playing for almost 50 years, drum quality has come a long way. I've had so many snares of all sizes and for a long time my DW Collectors series pure maple 6x14 has been my go to snare. Until recently….. I tested out a DW Performance series brass 8-1/2 x 14" and I loved the crack after hitting it just once. Since then I've been playing and testing out more brass, copper, steel and concrete snares. A couple of weeks ago my go to sales person called me and said I've got a snare here that should be right up your alley. I jumped in my car and drove straight there. She had to get the snare off the very top shelf near the 15' ceiling. After she brought it down to me I put it on a stand and again after one hit and a few rim shots I was sold. This drum is so flexible! A must have as part of your snare arsenal.

Beautiful snare. It is extremely easy to tune, very responsive to softer hits, and has a fuller and more robust sound than my shallower snares. I really, really like the throw off too - it's so smooth. This snare sounds so fantastic, I can't wait to use it for recording. Came with decent heads and a ring dampener. I think better snare wires and heads are going to make this snare sing. #sweepstakes
