TAMA

collapse expand iconDescription

The Iron Works Studio Series MS756BK stand is strong and;versatile enough for sensitive studio gear, the stand is also qualified for rugged roadwork. Instead of using common hollow metal tubing, Iron Works tripod legs are solid iron. This smart, bottom-heavy design provides steadfast positioning in a smaller footprint. Tama’s extra-thick rubber foot covers completely isolate the stand from floor vibrations.

The tilter features Tama’s unique multi-steel-plate Vice Grip compression approach cinches and secures this critical axis with remarkable strength and assuredness. Tama solves the age-old problem of metallic buzzing/rattling by embedding a plastic insert inside the T-handle stem.

The die-cast locking thumb nut’s larger, sure-grip design allows greater leverage for faster, easier set-up and breakdown. And Iron Works’ sturdy zinc, die-cast adjustment collar will be appreciated by drummers burned by
the performance failure of flimsy plastic collars.

A cleverly designed Latch-Lok Sleeve Insert inside the main height adjustment mechanism prevents the collar from wearing out over time—so you’ll never have to worry about endless collar turning that fails to ever tighten its grip.

I attached a sliding bracket to this stand to hold two overhead condenser mics for my drum set. It's perfect. Definitely heavy-duty and... heavy...

  • Most solid stand I have come across!

Stand is very heavy (very good thing). It holds my heaviest tube condenser with no problems. I have used Tama cymbal stands forever so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed with this mic stand but I was still surprised at the level of quality in the build. Highly recommend if you have heavy mics.

I have been using the run of the mills pro-lines, ultimate, etc. and those are ok for small dynamic mic. For large condenser studio mic, those mentioned wobbled and won't stay in place, sag, also tip over easy since they don't have the adequate counter weight, not to mention you need a wrench to tighten the crew and it never be tight enough. The Tama addressed all the above issues. Solid, high quality. No boom arm sagging.

Great hardware. Holds heavy expensive mics securely. I own 7 of these.

Same as the last comment, seemed great at first but the boom came completely out of the main part of the stand. Looks to be more or less glued together which failed. Would be a great stand if it wasn't for this design flaw. To ship it in for warrantee would be too costly seeing it is very heavy and you have to pay for shipping.

Liked this stand at first, but then it went bad. After about a month of use, It became loose. Where the boom extension attaches to the vertical stand, there is a threaded fitting. This fitting is pressed into the vertical extension tube, and then threaded into the boom when it is attached. The crimping did not hold up, and is now totally loose and wobbles. While it does not fall out, it is useless.
