I bought this kit to use for drum lessons. I typically use silent stroke heads for my lessons but I did use the stock heads to test the kit. The kick on this small kit is like a cannon. The kick could benefit from having an additional 2 latches to connect with a rod to keep the kick together. In all I am happy with the kit and it sounds just as good as my Silverstar Metro Jam kit.

Mic it and you'll like it! Actually, just have to mic the bass drum, as the toms are plenty loud for a small venue. I haven't purchased the matching cases for the drums, so I have not yet tried to fit both inside the bass drum for transport. This kit looks great and sounds really good too. Perfect for those smaller indoor gigs. Only drawback is that instructions say that the spurs and the lift kit must be removed before placing the bass drum (and toms tucked inside) into the case. This will definitely slow down set up and tear down a bit.
