14 spaces - not 12

Just an FYI - this rack is 14 spaces not 12. Exactly what I needed. My only complaint is that the rack rails are a tiny bit close together which made it difficult to get one particular piece of gear to fit. I did manage - but it was difficult. Other than that, it was super easy to assemble and very solid.

Nice piece of furniture, but beware the rackmount holes

Received this as a birthday present so I could continue building up my studio. The assembly directions were clear and easily followed. Got the thing together and everything was looking good until I went to mount my first interface and discovered the holes aren't lined up. And no, it wasn't operator error building the thing - it's pretty fool proof as they label the parts "right, left, etc." What occurred in my case is the person in the factory used the same piece of metal on each but just flipped it upside down. It looks kinda goofy to have my gear at a 5 degree angle, but given the price I don't know if it's worth it to disassemble and take it back or just live with it. I could conceivably take it out and take a hacksaw to it and raise the screws but since I'm the only one who sees it and it is just a home studio I don't think I will. Just be sure to inspect the metal pieces if you are worried about slanting units.

Just too large for what I want to do with it, but too large to waste my time sending back too. So, have to live with it. blah blah I CANNOT find anywhere in the manual; on the GC website; on the Mfg website, a spec for what SIZE screws to use with this. I have all sorts of screws at my house 10-24 10-32 8-32, etc. and even screws from former racks I've had. Only two screws in my whole house actually fit appropriately into the threaded holes. Pretty certain they are metric M5 0.8 screws/. Seriously?

  • Cheap, big, heavy, but looks nice

This was fairly easy to assemble, but since it's made of particle board it's very heavy. If you have to take it up or down stairs, don't assemble it first. However, it looks very nice in my home studio - it's about the size of a small dishwasher, but any 12U full-depth rack will not be small. The biggest downside is that I can't use the full rack because the holes are not evenly spaced. Many of my units will not fit next to each other because the holes don't line up. They look like they were eyeballed by someone with a hand drill. Can't recommend it on that basis.

Got this rack to go with the 46" studio desk. Very easy to assemble. Decent quality construction. Like some other users though, my rack rails don't line up as they should. The left side is 1/8" higher than the right.

Bought the 46" table and side car together. Easy to put together, good quality perfect out of the box. Using to for studio recording gear, monitors (videoan audio). Racks work great, plenty of space to pile I excess cable without being underfoot or in sight. It is very functional.

Assembly was much easier with a power drill but overall pretty easy to assemble. I rack mounted my 16 channel mixer and it fit great in the rack. I also put my Roland JD XI Keyboard on top and it fit great. I highly recommend this to anyone who needs a movable rack mount in their studio.

What are the dimensions (LxWxH) of this product? 24" is not very descriptive, I don't know if that means 24" high or long, or deep. I can't find the measurements anywhere.
