Studio RTA

collapse expand iconDescription

The Studio RTA Producer Station provides an expansive yet compact workstation for electronic musicians and producers. Its large, tiered surface has room for an 88-key keyboard, computer monitor and other equipment while keeping everything within easy reach. Dual 13-space racks on either side store synths, drum machines and more while smaller racks hold CDs, headphones and cables.

Spacious Yet Compact Design Maximizes Your Space

The Producer Station's tiered design provides maximum surface area without taking up too much floor space in your studio. The main level fits a full-sized keyboard with room to spare for a mixer, monitor or other gear. Upper tiers hold a second keyboard, laptop or desktop computer monitor at the perfect viewing angle. Smaller pull-out shelves keep a MIDI keyboard and mouse close at hand when needed.

Tangle-Free Cable Management for a Clean Workspace

With so much equipment comes a lot of cables, but the Producer Station keeps them neatly organized and out of the way. Built-in cable holders route cords under the workstation to prevent tripping hazards and tangled messes. Your studio space stays clean and uncluttered, allowing you to focus on your music.

Locking Casters Provide Easy Mobility and Positioning

Despite its spacious design, the Producer Station moves easily thanks to four locking casters. Roll it into place when setting up your studio or reposition it to access equipment and cables. When locked, the casters keep the workstation securely in place during use. Move it out of the way or into storage by simply unlocking the casters again.

Convenient Storage for All Your Equipment

With dual 13-space racks and smaller storage areas throughout, the Producer Station keeps your gear organized and close at hand. The racks handle synths, drum machines, compressors and more while smaller racks hold CDs, headphones, cables and other necessities. A 5-space rack on top provides extra storage space. Everything stored on the Producer Station is easily accessible when inspiration strikes.

I purchased this desk a ...

I purchased this desk a year ago and it has certainly improved the clutter situation in my studio. One downside is when fully loaded the caster screws cannot take the weight when the unit is rolled forward and back. In fact the rubber wheels can't take it. I had the rubber of one wheel tear in half and another the screws pulled out. Mind you, I am not wheeling this thing around the room. I have merely pulled it forward a few feet to change the configuration a couple of times. I would recommend drilling holes through the base and using bolts to attach the casters. I am sure that would solve the problem. Of course it wouldn't solve the problem of the cheap casters. Those you could upgrade as well. All in all a good item. I wish I thought about the caster mount sooner because I am not going to disassemble my whole studio now and the desk is so heavy loaded up. Definitely use bolts. The extra effort will be worth it.

Have Had One Almost 20 Years - decent buy with some weakness

For the price it's a good deal. It's big which is a plus.. but can be bulky in the wrong space. For all the abuse it's been through it held up pretty well. Veneer on the edges at the bottom started coming off a few years ago. Yes it's cheap pressboard but not bad really. You would have to spend triple the money for harder wood. I'll agree with other reviews on the cons: Shelf is too high for display monitors. Neck gets a crick after a while. Especially now with larger screens. The sheet metal back and sides get in the way sometimes when try to run wires or connect things. Not sure if you can remove them without compromising stability. The rack rail is iffy. Easy to strip and don't always line up right.

Been using it for 5 years. Sturdy, lots of rack spaces, spacious, practical. The package is very heavy, requires 2 people to handle. I'm very happy with it and don't think in buying or replacing it for another one in a very long time.

This desk has been a fabulous investment. I don't think you can find a better, more efficient use of space. It's so well thought out. I've had some of the most gratifying moments of my life at this desk. I just put it up for sale and I feel like I'm losing a friend. If I recall correctly, I bought this desk in 2009. It has survived a coupe of moves with no problem. I simply removed the top shelf and put it back together in just a few minutes. It's not the most robust piece of furniture but it's definitely as strong as it needs to be. Mine still works like new. All the rack rails are straight. The shelves slide easily. The casters are 100%. It's a great desk. Definitely worth the money to me. Thanks for everything old pal.

Rack rails are incorrectly spaced, meaning you'll be fighting every time you change a piece of gear. All the hardware is flimsy and loose and doesn't hold up after a move.

  • Sturdy desk but misleading description

The desk is sturdy and fits my needs well, but be aware that the "solid cherry wood construction" in the product description is not true. The wooden sections are MDF with a veneer.

This is a really nice desk. Its huge. A couple of alerts here: The 2 boxes together weight over 200 pounds. I had to put in the garage and take it out piece by piece. Assembly is nice a clear - everything is laid out well. THE EXTREMELY BAD: If you have a full rack, this is a disaster. The rack rails are comically bad as far as the spacing of the holes. Its hard to find 4 holes that line up on a piece of equipment. You can visibly see how off the holes are, not in line, not spaced evenly. I work in the manufacturing field and this is absolutely inexplainable. It looks like it was hand drilled without a template. If you don't have a lot of gear, you'll probably be fine. Just be aware.
