Sterling by Music Man StingRay SR50 Electric Guitar Firemist Silver

Description
Sterling by Music Man StingRay SR50, a reimagining of the iconic '70s StingRay design with premium modern appointments. It features a roasted maple neck and locking tuners for unparalleled stability and sustain. The StingRay SR50 is built with a solid poplar body that resonates powerfully, providing a robust tonal foundation for the dual humbucking pickups. These pickups offer a bold, punchy tone that cuts through loud live mixes with ease. With a 3-way pickup selector switch, players can access a range of tones from bright and crisp to thick and distorted.
Roasted Maple Neck Enhances Playability
The roasted maple neck provides a smooth, fast playing surface, ideal for complex soloing and intricate rhythm work. Its medium jumbo frets make bending and vibrato easy to execute while the 25.5" scale length offers a familiar feel for most guitarists. Locking tuners keep the StingRay SR50 in tune through the most aggressive playing, eliminating frustrating tuning issues mid-song or mid-set.
Dual Humbuckers Deliver Power and Articulation
The dual humbucking pickups are the heart of the StingRay SR50's powerful tone. They provide a bold, punchy sound with excellent note articulation, allowing chord voicings and melodic lines to ring through clearly. The bridge pickup offers a bright, cutting tone that is perfect for solos while the neck pickup produces a warm, throaty sound ideal for rhythm playing. With the 3-way pickup selector switch, players can access the full range of tones available from these versatile pickups.
Vintage-Style Tremolo Adds Expression
A vintage-style tremolo bar allows players to bend pitches up and down, adding expression and nuance to solos and lead lines. This tremolo system provides a subtle undulation and warble to notes without going out of tune, achieving a musical vibrato effect. The tremolo arm itself has a sturdy, non-slip design so it stays firmly in place until needed.
Classic Styling with Premium Components
With its iconic shape, the StingRay SR50 pays homage to the original Music Man designs of the 1970s. It features premium components like a 3-ply pickguard, open-gear tuners and a 4+2 headstock. A rosewood fingerboard and matching painted headstock provide a sleek, high-end look. This guitar delivers a perfect blend of vintage style and modern playability at an accessible price.

I've been a squier strat guy and I needed a humbucker guitar to expand my tone variety, and this was the perfect mid-range guitar upgrade for me. I love the warm tone of the neck pickups and the scratchy tones of the bridge, and this has been perfect for jazz, rock, and blues overall. I don't really like the placement of the jack input which I accidentally get the cord squished when I play to sit down, and I think there could be more flexibility in having more knobs controlling the tone such as having one for each pickup. Overall a great guitar

First, I didn't buy this guitar, it was given to me new as a gift. I've now had it about one year of use. This is a good guitar, but the neck seating was terrible on my copy. I had to remove the neck and screws and grind down the screw ends so I could reseat and setup the neck. I have a lot of experience with guitars so this was no big deal, but why should a guitar leave the factory like this in the first place? The fret job is good, no problems and once reset it plays well, although the pickups are a little flat sounding for my taste, it would be a much better guitar with some premium pickups. The finish and polishing are very good, the hardware seems sturdy although the wobbly and unremoveable tremolo bar is kind of a limited affair because it will make a clacking noise every time you use it, which I do. It's stable and stays well in tune even after cased for a while. 10s are a must, 9s are not a good match. OK, well there it is. Four Stars is generous but after some work and a good setup it's a Four Star guitar.
Extremely nice for the price!

I bought this guitar to try something completely different. I'm used to all the Fenders, Gibson's, Epiphones, Ibanez, etc. These don't seem to be as popular, but they should be.. I am very pleased! It kinda reminds me of the Van Halen wolfgangs a little bit. The pickups have such character on clean and handle whatever distortion you throw at it. It's got sparkle and snap like a strat but with a lot more umph. The tone is clear and each string rings evenly. Almost like it's got built in compression or something. Seriously, amazing. Two point fulcrum bridge with tremolo, locking keys, all chrome hardware, and that roasted maple neck.. 🤤 I've got high end guitars and have been playing all sorts of styles for 16/17 years and I'm seriously impressed and like this guitar quite a bit. I'd recommend it to just about anyone!
