The dual humbucker StingRay RAY34 bass melds the signature muscular low end and growling midrange of Music Man's iconic StingRay design with expanded tonal flexibility. Its roasted maple neck and pair of Alnico humbucking pickups team up to deliver rich, singing tone with excellent note definition. The 3-band active preamp grants you the versatility to shape your sound, while the sleek, contoured body offers playing comfort. With the RAY34 HH bass, you get that big, bold StingRay sound with the versatility you need.

Dial In Your Tone With the 3-Band Active Preamp

The RAY34 HH bass gives you the control you need to craft your signature sound. Its 3-band active preamp features dedicated bass, midrange and treble controls so you can dial in the perfect blend of low-end thump, growling mids and crisp highs. Boost the mids for aggressive rock tones or cut them for a smoother, more scooped sound. Add some sizzle up top or roll off the highs for a mellower vibe. Whether you need a punchy slap sound, a deep punk rumble or a funky thumb-popping groove, the RAY34's flexible preamp lets you shape your tone with ease.

Roasted Maple Neck Provides Stability and Bright Tone

The RAY34 HH gets its speed and playability from its roasted maple neck. The roasting process enhances stability and durability by reducing the wood's internal stresses. This means the neck resists warping and twisting far better than traditional maple. Tonally, roasted maple contributes tight lows, snappy mids and crisp highs. Combined with the smooth satin finish, the RAY34's neck feels fast and slick, making it easy to blaze up and down the fingerboard. The distinctive maple tone blends wonderfully with the warm, singing voice of the RAY34's Alnico humbuckers.

Alnico Humbuckers Deliver Rich Lows and Singing Highs

The RAY34 HH gets its signature growling midrange punch and huge low end from its pair of Alnico humbucking pickups. The bridge pickup produces fat, rich lows that fill out the bottom end, along with a snarling midrange that cuts through a mix. The neck pickup warms up the tone with round, singing highs and excellent note definition. Used together, they yield the mammoth lows, aggressive mids and singing treble that define the iconic StingRay sound. The 5-way pickup selector lets you instantly access both pickups, each individually and clever combinations for expanded tonal variety.

Sleek Body Design Provides Playing Comfort

The RAY34 HH bass sports Music Man's iconic asymmetrical body shape that contours to your body for playing comfort. Its smooth, beveled edges and forearm and ribcage cutaways allow you to play for hours on end without fatigue. At just under 8 pounds, the RAY34 is lightweight enough for strapped playing but packs enough heft to feel solid and balanced. It all adds up to an exceptionally comfortable and ergonomic bass that becomes an extension of your body on stage and in the studio.
