Better than it has any right to be.

I've had this bass for 4 months now. I don't like to review things while I'm in the honeymoon phase, I don't notice my toy's short comings untill I have lived with them awhile. I usually play this plugged into a scarlet interface for jamming and recording on my computer. The electronics are versatile. I have a main voice I like and use most of the time, and 2 settings I use for effect. This thing loves to be slapped, it has an awesome percussive sound. It makes my thumb sound much stronger than my other basses. The string spacing is really good too. It gives me enough room for accuracy with my thumb without slowing me down when I use my fingers or even a pick. The 5th string has good tension too. My previous 5 string had a flubby 5th that was disappointing. It was a little buzzy and rattily when I first got it, but I was able to clear that up with my playing technique. The bridge is a good design but it and the tuning keys are made of the standard cheaper alloy you expect to see on import instruments. It works though no defects or issues. The frets are a little smaller than I would prefer, and the material is again standard for imported instruments. They are seated and dressed really well though. No poping or rough ends. The nut is cheap plastic, but the slots are cut way better than I usually see at this tier. It's an awesome workhorse Stingray, that won't put me in too much of a depression spiral if it were to get broken or stolen.

Not what I had hoped for.

I wanted to love this Bass but will be returning it Been rehearsing with it for a month, I will say pickups sound nice. For the price I'd overlook a small, poorly finished blemish on the head But even after bringing back to GC for a setup the fret buzz & intonation break the deal

After 10 years with my Squier Jaguar (and 7 years from my starter Ibanez) i upgraded on equipment and jumped from 4 to 5 strings. NO Regrets here. I saw it at a GC at Phoenix,Az 5 years ago. Tried it again at SD,Ca last year and ordered it on xmas sale. Smooth play, clear sound, looks great. Hope to rock this one for at least 10 years too.

I'm a guitar player that has recently swapped to bass for my church, and coming from 6 strings I figured 5 can't be that different. But honestly the low B threw me off as I learned songs. I ended up swapping it out for a 4 string. Great bass just a bit too much for a new slapper

I got this bass as a Christmas gift in 2023, had to do some minor setup, adjusted the neck, string height, adjust the bridge for correct intonation. After setup was complete, has been a rock solid bass. I do wish wish that all of the hardware matched, but I might fix that in the future! I prefer playing this bass over my Ibanez SR375M

As a mixing engineer for two successful recording studios in my career so far, I'd like to think I know what sounds good. I bought this bass because I needed some low notes to accommodate a 7 string guitar track, but didn't want to sacrifice sound quality for the sake of savings. Having looked over the typical cheaper Ibby SR models that I've struggled to get a good tone from and are usually setup quite poorly, I was a bit skeptical that I could get what I needed from this bass guitar as this price. Welp, I'm glad I took the chance. This Sterling Stingray 5 has amazing tone from each of the 5 pickup switch positions, and very simple yet responsive EQ controls. Excellent bass for metal, rock, and jazz. Love it! #sweepstakes

I use this Stingray as a church / worship bass. Not only does it have a wide array of tones, but is powerful enough to cut through a mix of vocals, drums, organ, percussion and vocals. This bass is a bargain especially when it goes on sale.

I was looking for a reliable 5 string bass but not too pricey so I took my chances on this one. I already own an EBMM Stingray (American) so i figured if this was at least half as good it would be worth the money. After a few tweeks out of the box it is a great sounding bass. With dual ceramic humbucking pickups and an active preamp, this is a very aggressive sound at a very deceiving price point. With a surprisingly well build quality and sturdy neck this bass is gig and studio worthy for any style or genre of music. With a 5-way pick up selector, a 2-band EQ across 2 humbucking pickups the tonal options are endless. The only negative thing I can say is that it came with a missing spring in one of the screws on the neck pick up. It was a cheap and easy fix. Other than that a 5 star bass.

This bass has the greatest sound that I ever heard, but I have big hands, so please tell me if I can change the string spacing because the spacing is to narrow? I really want to buy one.

All basses vary depending on the density of the wood. Even the same model can vary up to 1.5 lbs Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Bass Guitars are generally between 8.00 and 10.00 lbs. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. This will weigh approximately 8 -9 lbs
