I have the purple metallic version. There were black dot spots under the poly finish. "The nut on your Majesty is made of PPS ("Polyphenylene sulfide is an engineering plastic, commonly used today as a high-performance thermoplastic.")" - Sterling. Other than being more plastic than graphite, it was well cut and slotted. I replaced it unbleached bone. Electronics work perfect. I like the pickups. The volume boost option is nice too. It is just the right amount to boost. The bridge is a good one. Intonation was on point. However the trem block is tiny. Huge potential here with a bigger trem block or blocking the trem so there is solid contact between bridge and body(dive only). The trem springs cause a "reverb/echo" effect on certain frets. I stuck foam strips in the springs to solve that. The tuners are very smooth and stable. Now for the bad.... Fretwork is atrocious. There are poorly seated/leveled frets. This caused fretouts on high E string. The action needs to be raised too high to compensate. So I had to file down a couple of frets at the treble side(high E). It plays like a beauty now. It now plays well with a low action. Sustain is amazing after I blocked the trem to dive only. Bottom Line: Way over priced. It has potential though.... with some work done to it. Now, it feels like the EBMM version. So, look for a used one, wait for big sale, or save up for EBMM.

I've been playing for 35 years. This is my first 7 string. I picked it up and within ten minutes of thumbing around it was like a an old friend. Love the feel, it has some fret slap but that comes with a super straight neck. Took a little while to dial it in . I use a Boss Katana on the crunch setting with a Tube Screamer . Normally I'm more of a blues player but every now and then you've got to play The Metal . It's well made , the controls feel good, fit and finish are flawless. It was a floor model so the store might have set it up . I had zero problems with the bridge or trem . I will give Sterling this, this is my third Sterling. I have a JP 60 and a St Vincent and all the trems are perfect. Normally I'll block them out on lower end guitars , but these are really good . Granted if you go wacko with the bar it's coming out of tune, but for just a little dive, they're good , I've got 0 buyers remorse. I'd buy it again... If you get a chance give one a try.
