For the price and a little setup, this guitar is very good. I may change the tuners to a locking set and upgrade the bridge. I really like the light weight and the feel of the neck. It's a keeper for me.

This is one of the most comfortable guitars I've ever played . It's very inspiring to play, the fretboard has a lot of bounce and no shape edges. I get some great tones out of it, even with the stock pickups. They're actually why I bought the guitar I really liked the tones . I can get County twang to hard rock tones with just this guitar and a fender blues deluxe, no pedals. Bluesy Inverted chords sound awesome on the neck pickup with the tone rolled back a bit . Bridge has done good crunch . The construction is solid. Electronics feel good . The tuners are a bit sloppy but don't need to be changed right away . The tremolo will knock it out of tune a bit but I think a little graphite on the nut will fix that. The body Finish is great with no flaws , the neck has a satisfying feel a little chunk but comfortable like a telecaster. Bouncy rockabilly riffs are no problem. The finish has a satin finish that will break in nicely. No high frets, set up was good out of the box . It's a good guitar, I passed it up a few times because I was unfamiliar with Albert Lee and I wasn't really into the color , but I was looking at the Mariposa, the body is the kind of the same and I liked the colors of the Mariposa (that blue with the dark neck is nice) and this guitar was next to it so I A/B them and the neck on the Albert Lee is just a bit chunkier and the tones sold me on it. The color grew on me in a day or two. But to each their own give one a try .

  • amazing, actually.

The body shape attracted me to this guitar and the tone keeps me playing it! I have owned a Epiphone Les Paul custom pro (split coil) for a while and this guitars single coil tones are superior and much more "stratty" very versatile and the shape is f the guitar is simultaneously retro and modern The frets were sharp when I first took it out of the box. I've used lemon oil on the fret board to hydrate and condition the wood. The frets are much smoother and it's no longer an issue.

  • Amazing!

I was looking for something to cover all the bases. I play country, punk and metal styles. Right off the rack it stays in tune, everything felt solid and stock pickups were beefy and sweet sounding. Took it home and put new strings on it, stayed in tune immediately. It's an absolute joy to play. I usually play Les Pauls, telecasters or a Gretsch and the Sterling is basically all three in one. You won't find a guitar this good at this price!

  • Great guitar at this price point. Plays great and rings.

Was never really attracted to this guitar before but I saw it in the store, picked it up out of curiosity, and wow! Such a fun, great playing guitar at such a reasonable price. I don't like trem system generally and this one is flat to the body so I'm treating it as if it's a hard tail. I'd also say the trem is probably the only bad feature on the guitar. The rest really rocks.
