Sterling Audio

Description

The Sterling Audio STPF2 professional mesh pop filter removes the dreaded plosive pop sound from your vocals. These pops usually occur when singing and hitting a word that begins with a "P" or "B," creating a noticeable pop of air movement in the recording. The transparent double-layer nylon mesh STPF2 provides two layers of dissipation, so the pop is virtually eliminated. Sterling Audio includes a 13" gooseneck and extra-large mounting bracket to connect the STPF2 pop filter to almost any microphone stand.

Sterling Audio STPF2 (Pop-Filter)

First off, I Love this pop-filter. It can pretty much attach to any type of microphone stand. The "P" and "S" dont mess up any of the frequencies and this pop-filter is at such a good low price! Definitly buy now! 5/5

Cheaply Made Attachment Bracket RUINS The Product

When I bought this "Professional" Pop Filter on sale, I was careful to look at the size of the steel bracket that attaches the filter at only one point; to make sure it was heavy enough to make up for the poor design. It appears to be, but in truth I was able to easily bend it back in shape with my own strength... and I'm no Superman. Yes, I said back in shape, because the very first time there was a tip-over, when setting up a band; it bent by inches, and that was only after a few feet drop. While the mic cage was fine, and that's what took the brunt of the fall; this cheap filter was all but destroyed. No big deal right? I live in NYC, you can't walk outside without spending $20, but when I saw how highly rated this poorly made and designed filter was, I decided to write a review. Don't buy this thing. Not if you actually work, or use any kind of boom mic that could tip in the heat of battle. The attachment bracket looks to be large enough gauged, but it's cheaply resourced scrap metal covered in paint. Since it only attaches at one point; all the pressure is on that cheap bracket. It's only a matter of time before it bends and will no longer support itself. Spend the extra coin for a mesh filter that attaches at two points; they don't look as good, but they also don't break and fail on you in the middle of a session.

I've used windscreen socks when I was in a band but now I'm going into voice overs. This is a decent starter filter. Works fine. Getting the position right is a little tricky (see photo). Just direct it back first and then forward.-The Retro Synthwave Opera

  • Works like a champ.

Bracket rattles with adjusting screw moving loosly within the hole. Does not hold the weight of the filter. My suggestion would be to remove it from the store shelf. Only used it a handful of times. There are better options out there.

  • It is good

This really worked out great! It is well made in that it attaches itself to the microphone stand and can be adjusted so the filter can be right in front of the microphone! Great product!
