Stedman Proscreen PS101 Pop Filter

This is a great filter for almost every application. Voices sound very natural and clean through this screen and it is effective in doing its job. However, there is a small problem that will show up with certain voices. Without the rubber bezel ring that is included with the higher priced version of this filter, this model can produced sympathetic vibrations that can be heard on your recordings. This would normally have been a 3-star rating for me but there are several easy fixes. You can run a bead of black silicone sealant (the type used for making automotive gasket seals) around the perimeter and allow it to fully dry before use. Or the uglier but easier (and quicker) method is to take some gaffer's tape and roll a section of it to a round string and place it around the edge and then secure it to the filter with a thin piece of gaff tape. I've used the second method with perfect results.

While I don't think these sound much different than the fabric pop filters, it does offer one distinct difference. If you've ever had a rapper literally spit all over the mic then you know how nasty the popper stopper can get after a few sessions. The great thing about these metal Stedmans is that you can just run them under water and wipe it off. They're a lot easier to clean than the fabric versions.
