I bought a sonic tele and it was set very well. I had to adjust the intonation just a little. Plays great. Then I saw the strat on sale plus I had a gift card so I bought this also. The frets were not sharp on either neck. Some reviews say the frets need polishing but I found them to be smooth. The strat was set up perfect. A little fret but on the low e but when it warmed up to room temperature it was fine. Action nice on both guitars. Finish was flawless. I have an American tele and strat. Only difference is the American pick ups have a somewhat warmer soundbut not that noticeable. Don't be afraid to give the sonic series a try and save yourself big money. A few years ago a budget guitar was about what you would expect. Now you will be pleasantly pleased.

Good value if value and cost are priorities
This seems like a good cheap guitar but still a cheap guitar. The tone and feel are what they are, which left me picking up my 20 yr old (not especially high end but well-aged) Takamine acoustic instead of wanting to spend time on the Squier. If you can easily afford something a little higher end in the Fender lineup, you may want to. It's worth your time to play an few instruments side by side to see which one you're most likely to bond with.

Good value - needed a set up

Like a lot of new guitars, it needed a couple of adjustments. Everything was solid - but there was a slight fret buzz. This was caused by there being no neck relief. I adjusted that and the buzz was gone. Then I had to make slight adjustments to the intonation. If you know how to do these things, its a good value.

Well made guitar at a good price. I didn't notice any sharp frets like some people noted. Stays in tune well and is fun to play. #sweepstakes

I used to play quite a bit as a teenager in the fabulous early 60s. Our band, the Chanteurs, were the first to be on WAVE tv's TEEN BEAT. Each year at the Fairgrounds, Carl Casper's Rod and Custom had band battle. We won the first year and afterwards we voted for who would win in future band battles. I still play at 78 years old and still love to crank up the distortion!

I've had this guitar for about a month now and I love it. It feels solid and the electronics sound pretty good for the price you're paying. I do have some complaints though, my main one is that the intonation isn't the best going up the fretboard so I've had to adjust that a bit. Another complaint I have is that the single coils produce a lot of humming from my amp so keep that in mind. But other than those 2 complaints this is a really solid guitar for beginners, I'd recommend it.

Weight?
All guitars vary depending on the density of the wood. Manufacturers usually only spec size and type of wood. Guitars are generally between 6 and 12 lbs. They can be more. The only way to know the weight of an individual instrument is to weigh it. I'm sorry but I don't have one to weigh. This will be approximately 7.5 – 8.0 lbs.submitteda year ago
