Squier Does it again

I am a Telecaster guy. As soon as I saw this guitar, I wanted it. I am not disappointed. I could not find a single flaw anywhere in the finish of this guitar. I got the Natural color, which is darker than the pictures you see on the website, but it is beautiful. The neck has a clear gloss finish, which I like. It just has a retro look and feel. The set up out of the box is good, but I'm sure it will need some tweaking once it's been in my house a while. It actually is a lighter than I expected it to be, which I also like very much. The pickups are pretty good and perform as I would expect. I really like the sound of the neck pickup with the distortion cranked up. I most likely will change out the pickups, either for the pure vintage 64, or the twisted tele pickups. As others have commented, this guitar feels like a much more expensive guitar than it is. I'm glad I bought it, and you will be too.

I would not buy another but I am going to keep this one

Good guitar for the price but, the high E string is way to close to the edge of the board , Some things cannot be played on this guitar for that reason. Intonation was spot on , I like the pickups . I have already purchased a different bridge with closer together string spacing 52mm E to E spacing instead of the stock 54 mm I think that will solve the problem . The neck just isnt wide enuff to make it totally playable up and down the neck the way it comes stock.

I really like the design and components, but I hated the neck. The neck lacquer is sticky and the profile is a bit of a baseball bat, feels a little slow.

  • I would recommend

This guitar is gorgeous- every time i see it I can't help myself from picking it up. It also sounds amazing. I have it hooked up to my orange crush amp and get insane sounds out of it. Everything I love about teles with the offset body 10/10.

  • I will keep it but I hate the frets.

The guitar looks and feels good. I hate the frets though. The narrow tall frets are, as the name suggests, tall and have nearly a 2mm bevel because they are so tall. This really cuts into the playable fret area and leaves little room for fretting the high and low E but mainly the high E is troublesome. If im not careful it slips right off the neck. It's frustrating. Probably a bad buy but it looks so good.

I play at home mostly ,I would gig with this guitar, I also would potentially record with this guitar pickups are well balanced, but the nut may need lowering as I have a heavy touch, very nice guitar , and great price point would recommend to anyone looking for a really nice guitar
