Squier

collapse expand iconDescription

Squier's Mini Stratocaster Maple Fingerboard limited-edition electric guitar is sized for small players but packs the punch of its full-scale siblings. This limited-edition model features three single-coil pickups for the distinctive tone Fender Stratocasters are known for. A hardtail bridge provides stable tuning and smooth playability ideal for beginners. The slim, comfortable neck is tailored for small hands so kids and students can start rocking right away.

Three Single-coil Pickups Capture Iconic Strat Sound

No Stratocaster is complete without the crisp, articulate tone of single-coil pickups. This Mini Stratocaster comes loaded with three single-coils for the classic Strat sound in a compact package. Players can dial in everything from glassy neck pickup tones to punchy bridge pickup grit. With a 5-way pickup selector, it's easy to access a range of tones from bluesy warmth to soaring leads.

Hardtail Bridge Keeps You in Tune

Especially for new players, staying in tune is key. This Mini Stratocaster features a hardtail bridge that provides rock-solid tuning stability. There are no floating bridge parts to manage so strings stay put once tuned. The hardtail bridge also aids sustain and ease of use, allowing beginners to focus on playing rather than fussing with tuning.

Slim, Comfortable Neck Made for Little Fingers

Learning guitar is challenging enough without struggling to fret notes and chords. The Mini Stratocaster's slim neck profile and small scale length are tailored for children and students. The neck has a shallow C shape that fits comfortably in small hands, while the shorter 22.75" scale length requires less hand stretching. These ergonomic features make the Mini Stratocaster an ideal first guitar for kids and beginners.

Limited-Edition Style

The Mini Stratocaster Maple Fingerboard limited-edition exudes rock-and-roll style. As a limited-edition model, once the current stock sells through, it will no longer be available. This stylish Mini Stratocaster is sure to inspire little players to practice and perform.

Fender Upped Their Game on the Squier Mini

Arrived playable right out of the box after tuning, with perfect neck relief and just a few tweaks needed at the bridge for intonation. I've got a few older Squier Mini Strats, and this one has upgraded parts compared to them: - Better tuners - Quality nut - Maple fretboard - Flush output jack on the side (Some may consider this last a negative since it doesn't have the usual cup jack plate on the front of the guitar like a traditional Stratocaster. But I like it so far and it looks like it won't come loose like the older models can.) Pickups use ceramic magnets like the old models, but they always sounded good to me. The frets could use a bit of smoothing at the ends and a polish - but so did the older models. The neck is a bit lighter color than I usually like (seems to be common with their latest Asian imports), and the satin finish looks like it's almost not there, but it feels fine to play so far. I would recommend this for kids and beginners (it'll be a great first guitar), or for fans the Squier Mini - the quality is better than it used to be, so it won't need as much work to play great!

Breaking Out the Cleaning Supplies

I bought this for my son's 6th birthday. I checked it before giving it to him. It was filthy. It looked as though it had been handled by a car mechanic who had not washed his hands. I could see fingerprint patterns. The grime on the face of the pick guard was no big deal because of the cellophane covering, but the grime on the beveled edge of the pick guard was in the plastic. There was grime on the nut, on the back of the headstock, and in a few places on the body. The Musician's Friend customer service guy was great. He arranged an exchange, and was truly sympathetic. Since I couldn't give it to my son for his birthday, I decided to save it for another occasion. I left it unopened for a few months. Today, I opened it just to check it. Filthy with the same kind of grime. I checked the serial number against a photo I had taken of the original mini. It's a different guitar. Says a lot about the quality control at Fender. Too late to get an exchange, so I'm going to do what I can to clean it. I'm also going to write to Fender to complain. Musician's Friend was great on their end. I only recommend that they open some of the mini Squiers to check them for condition and give Fender some grief for any that they find to be less than clean.

Given the price I wasn't sure how well this guitar would play but I was very pleasantly surprised but the quality and sound it produced! I bought it for my kid that is just learning but after playing around with it myself I went out and bought a full size Squier for myself. Great little guitar! #sweepstakes

My step daughter is only 9 and wanted to start playing guitar. We started with a Loog and she quickly got the hang of it so we were looking for something very short scale but still a real guitar. This checked all the boxes. It was easy to set up and good quality. We'll get plenty of use out of it after she passes it on to her little brother.

Bought this to replace a beat up one given to me. It a great couch, travel, play in the car during kids sport's practice guitar. However the pickguard is a lavender color. But I have another to part out. You can't just buy another mini strat pickguard. Plays great & super fun!

Every time my Grandkids come over they always ask to play one of my guitars and I always encourage young players so naturally I say yes. I have to keep a close eye on them because I don't really have a beater for them to play and everything I have is full scale. Last weekend my grandson came over so I took him to Guitar Center and we picked up the Mini Strat. I have to say Its not a bad guitar and priced right for what it is. It has sharp fret ends that I will have to address and the low E string has a buzz about halfway up the neck. That's not a big deal as I am a capable luthier.
