One of the best $100 guitars ever!!!!

Craftsmanship(8) It is on par with most $200 - $300 dollar guitars. The fret work was decent. The factory setup was decent, No noticeable flaws. Definitely on par with the more expensive Standard, and Affinity series. Maybe even better. The only thing I really care for are the tuners. They work fine. However, I can see that they would need to be replaced due to heavy use. The guitar is very lite!!!! Sound(8) This thing sounds like a Tele. However the bridge pickup is not quite bright enough. Not a show stopper. I like the dark sound of it. Just not the staple Tele sound. It is not bad enough for me to change them out. The Neck pickup is on par. Durability(7) I would do a gig with it. Everything on it is fine except the tuning engines. Overall(8) Hey, it is a $100 guitar. It is probably the best $100 Fender you will ever get. It is a decent guitar at any price. It plays good. It is easy to carry. It sounds good. I am going to spend a few dollars on some tuning engines, and this will definitely be a keeper.

Cool appearance, good build quality, bad electronics

Picked up one of these for $99 during a Columbus Day flash sale. Straight out of the box the guitar was set up to play. Action was low, intonation was good, no fret buzz. I didn't bother plugging it in until I got to my studio. Played through a Vox AC30CC2 the pickups had a lot of mid range and low end but none of your typical Tele bite. I expected a lot more chime coming through that amp. The 3-way switch and tone knob both had very little affect. It's not the worst sounding guitar in the world but the only thing that makes it a Telecaster is the way it looks. On the bright side, the pickguard features standard mounts and underneath it the body is routed for dual humbuckers. I'm installing a new wiring harness with 375k pots, a P90 in the bridge and a SD Quarter Pounder in the neck. When all is said and done, this will be a tone machine falling well below the $300 mark. Again, this is a dead sexy looking instrument-- especially in the black sparkle or the metallic orange. I would recommend it to anyone just learning how to play or for those searching for a platform to build upon. For those looking for a guitar to extend your sonic palette, look elsewhere as you will be disappointed.

As is, this a fine beginner's guitar for rock/light metal. The humbucker sounds pretty good. As everyone else has stated, the guitar is super light, but this doesn't seem to affect sustain or sound. The neck is smooth and easy to play. The frets on mine weren't sharp, and the setup was actually decent. I replaced the pickups with Lil Punchers from GFS, and replaced the pots with 500k pots and a real Tele 3-way switch, and the guitar is now a beast. All for well under $200 total. Great base for modding.

  • Good for a beginner or for modifying

Took a chance on ordering this beauty to see if I'd end up with a good winner, and I did! She is gorgeous, has very great tone, and feel. I got this on sale for under a hundred. What a bargain! like it better than the vintage Squier Tele I had a few years ago. Seems to be a better build, and definitely Tone and Beauty above to me.........

The main thing I love about this guitar is the weight, it is incredibly light, almost as light as a good acoustic. It makes all my other solid body electric guitars feel like they have useless dead weight all over the place. I have been using this for several months and it is holding up really well. Neck is satin finish for easy fast movements. The single coil position is great all around and the full position feels more like a boost than a lead tone, still great though.

I purchased this at 89.00 during Labor Day sale. I thought it would just be a knockaround guitar I was quite surprised. Not the best tuners, but they are sealed tuners and hold tune pretty well. The neck pickup gives some spank that you want to hear from a Tele. The humbucker really has some bite for an Asian made pickup. The electronics are what you would expect at this price point. The frets needed polishing, was getting a little gritty feeling when bending strings. No sharp edges on mine, surprisingly. Dressed out and rounded the nut. Did a full setup. Put an F-spaced Seymour Duncan JB and added a push/pull tone pot. Now she's a player. Basswood body has some nice grain. I recommend this guitar for beginners and players alike. I'm going back for the metallic orange HH strat today at 99 bucks.

Great little guitar! Does more than you expect! I picked this little beauty up and was really impressed with the way it was set upand played! I did notice that the fret ends were quite good and the neck was straight! I did however set it up to my standards! I replaced the pickups with a USA Fender Atomic Humbucker in the bridge and a USA Fender Hot tele neck pickup and new pots and a 4 way pickup selector switch for series selection of both pickups in the 4th position! Now this is a total keeper and player that sings! I would replace it if it was stolen!
